WHy SHOe deSign? i always wanted to create something for showgirls. They wear lots of feathers and shoes, so for me being
a shoe designer was the only possibility. And i love shoes: the posture they give, the sound heels make when you walk.WHat iS tHe Secret Of yOur SucceSS? i really love women so if a design doesn’t look good on the leg, i kill it. it’s that simple.WHat did creating tHe bOOk invOlve? We had to go back through the archives and get all the shoes photographed. Everything was scattered all over the place but we got there in the end.career HigHligHtS SO far? The Love shoes that helped keep me
in business in my first year; the Pigalle which has become so iconic; my designs for Yves Saint Laurent’s last couture
show… They all remind me of great moments.
favOriteS frOm tHe fall cOllectiOn? The Zecroi kitten-heel pumps, because the pattern disappears onto the foot, and the Vicky Janes which i designed for one of the Crazy horse club cabaret girls. WHat’S next? I’m happy to go with the flow but I would like to remain independent. i can show the next generation that if you follow your dreams and your creativity it is possible to do what you want.
