Built in 1927 and inspired by the Mont-Saint-Michel monastery in France, the majestic Irvine Auditorium was originally commissioned to house many of Penn’s ceremonies, major speakers, film series, concerts, and community events. More recently, the auditorium has welcomed notable politicians, writers, dancers, singers, and musicians. We are proud to have hosted such prominent figures as President Bill Clinton, Maya Angelou, Billy Joel, and most recently, Vice President Joe Biden.

Irvine Auditorium boasts exclusive on-site catering and audio-visual teams to improve your event. If you require more technical services for your event, Visual Sound provides many amenities from sound systems to video recording to specialized lighting - and everything in between. These services are offered at an additional cost, based on the production schedule you provide.

The Irvine Auditorium Main Hall is a 1259-seat, ADA accessible, state-of-the-art performing arts complex. The orchestra level seats 842 and is suitable for any large event. Add the use of the balcony and mezzanine levels for full theatre capacity. The Main Hall is equipped with a high-end sound system, an assisted listening system, a

digital satellite projector, a xenon slide projector, as well as internet access and a house intercom system. Additional meeting & dressing rooms, audiovisual equipment,

instruments, equipment, stage risers, dance floor and personnel (electricians, production manager, tech crew, house manager, ushers, and box office staff) are

provided at an additional cost.

A replica of the original fire curtain from the Main Hall of Irvine Auditorium hangs at the front of the Class of 1958 Café. Café 58 lends itself to any configuration up to 90 guests. Anything needed for a catered

reception is available in the cafe.

The Amado Recital Hall, just off the Main Hall, can be reserved for rehearsal, performance or special events by University and Non-University organizations alike. Decorated with hand-painted imperial lions and thistles

(symbols of Scotland), the Recital Hall is a carpeted multipurpose space with wood flooring at the front to serve as a stage or presentation area. The room can be set to meet the client's needs. Amado Recital Hall is equipped with a sound system, dimmable lights, solar shades and a large projection screen. Music stands, pianos, choral

risers and stage risers, stackable chairs, tables and audio visual equipment are available for use in the room upon request.

The Emily Sachs Dance Gallery provides a well-equipped space for small performances as well as rehearsals. The mirrored wall with dance bars and hardwood sprung floor makes it especially well suited for dance. Draw the

curtains over the mirrors to create a back-drop for performances. Located on the fourth floor of Irvine Auditorium, the Emily Sachs rehearsal room is easily accessible, yet situated away from high-traffic areas.

Irvine G7 and G16 are spacious rooms with an understated, professional atmosphere. With a "lecture-style" arrangement, they are ideal for meetings and discussions for twenty or lecture presentations up to fifty-five. Dim the lights, lower the screen from the ceiling, and the room provides a cozy setting for a movie screening, video or computer presentation. Located on the ground floor of Irvine Auditorium, down the hall from the green room, these rooms are perfect for workshops and breakout sessions.

The Main Lobby area of Irvine Auditorium can be reserved for special events, in conjunction with the Main Hall. The space is

ideal as a registration, reception, or display area. It is also where the coatroom and box office are located.

†IRVINE GREEN ROOM¢

The Green Room is a flexible space, suitable for many types of events, including meetings, workshops, presentations, and

receptions. Round tables seat four each and provide a more casual setting for meetings and small group work. Formal meetings and

presentations are accommodated with lecture-style seating, a podium for speakers, and audiovisual equipment to enhance presentations. The built-in kitchenette makes it an ideal location for receptions.

Located on the ground floor of Irvine Auditorium, the Green Room is convenient for pre- and post-performance events and easily

accessible to backstage via elevator.

Furnishings The following amenities are available for use when renting space in Irvine

Auditorium: box office, coat room, exhibit booths, dressing rooms, showers, music practice rooms, visiting production office.

Linens A wide variety of furnishing options are available to our guests, including tables

and linens, risers and chairs, message boards and easels. Upon booking, your event coordinator will help to furnish the room based on your specific needs.

Catering Bon Appétit Catering, our exclusive on-site caterer, will work with you to

develop the perfect menu for your event. Our talented and creative culinary team will gladly recommend options to meet the needs of your guests and your budget; special requests or dietary restrictions are no problem either.

A/V Equipment All of your A/V needs can be exclusively accommodated by PQ Audio Visual.

Our staff consists of well-established technical and creative experts that combine years of production experience with a commitment to provide the personal attention and exceptional service you deserve.
