Description

Prefabricated Electric Centers (PEC) are tailor made,factory assembled and tested electric centers designedand manufactured by ABB to satisfy every specificcustomer needs. The design is a modular one, whichprovides a high level of flexibility in order to cover awide range of applications. That includes outdoorswitching stations (up to 44kV), single transformerstations (up to 44kV, 20 MVA), multi-transformer stationsor generating electric centers. In addition, a specialarrangement for pressurized PECs can be provided forspecial applications in hazardous areas. The primaryvoltage can vary up to 44kV. However, the secondaryvoltage (for transformer station PECs) can be a mediumvoltage or a low voltage as per the customerrequirements.

Prefabricated electric center is built on a hot-dippedgalvanized base frame in such a way that the wholecenter can be liftted and carried as a single unit.Since these centers are tailor made, their contentsvary depending on the specific needs of a customer.For example, a PEC might contain some or all ofthe following: generator, transformer, metalcladswitchgears, outdoor load bread switches or breakers,batteries and battery chargers, auxiliary transformers,AC/DC distribution panels, fire detection systems,air-conditioning systems, and many other equipments.

Description

Mobile Electric

ABB uses its engineering and manufacturing capabilitiesto supply the users with Pre-engineered, Pre-assembledand Pre-tested and commissioned Mobile ElectricCenters (MECs). With maximum transportationflexibility, these MECs can be used for any specialapplications like emergency power supply, networkextensions, temporary switching stations or transformerstations. MECs are tailor made, factory assembledand tested mobile electric centers designed andmanufactured in a modular form to satisfy the needs ofa customer. They can be designed to accommodatetransformers up to 20 MVA. The primary voltage canvary up to 44kV. However, the secondary voltage canbe a medium voltage or a low voltage as per thecustomer requirements.

Normally, the whole electric center is built on a trailerin such a way that the whole center can be used underoutdoor conditions. Since these centers are tailormade, their contents vary depending on the specificneeds of a customer. For example, a MEC might containsome or all of the following: generator, transformer, metalclad switchgear, outdoor load break switches and/orbreakers, batteries and battery chargers, auxilliarytransformers, AC/DC distribution panels, fire detectionsystems, air-conditioning systems, and many otherequipments.
