• Needed for easy exchange of data• Existing formats (eg SEGY/SEED) not optimal for industrial passive

seismic data• Discussed with operators, service companies, and academics• Proposal is two phases:

1. Unique definition of SEGY headers for acquisition parameters of passive seismogram data (triggered and continuous) with 3C configuration

– Ideally work with existing SEGY viewers

2. XML based meta-file containing hypocentral parameters
