Privacy, improvements, access, location, views. These are the key words that help to describe Powderhorn Creek Ranch. The valley views, rock formations and meandering Powderhorn Creek are gracefully accented by a newly built frontier style home. Oversized garage and fully equipped guest quarters are welcome additions to a well laid out master plan of the improvements. Irrigated hay meadows, water rights, a work shop and full equestrian facilities complete this useful western ranch. The 200 +/- private acres are backed into thousands upon thousands of public acres and right out your back door are the 61,250 protected acres of the Powderhorn Wilderness Area. The ranch is located in the world famous Big Game Unit 66. The unit boasts quality managed deer and elk herds. Whether you like the challenge of the hunt or to walk were few tread, you can enjoy both from your own western mountain ranch.

The Powderhorn Valley and boasts unsurpassed beauty and privacy! The ranch is located at the end of a county maintained, all-season road with no other public access off of County Road 30 in Gunnison County. The ranch includes 240 (+/-) acres, of which 120 (+/- ) are irrigated, with two rustic cabins as well. Powderhorn Creek runs through a portion of the ranch and a small pond is fed by a thermal spring. Water and water rights are both attributes to the ranch with 10 (+/-) cfs of water. The back portion of the ranch consists of large old growth pine and aspen groves backed into a very private section of BLM lands, which then backs into the 61,250 (+/-) acre Powderhorn Wilderness Area. This Wilderness Area is on the northern fringe of the San Juan Mountains. Few other areas in Colorado give rise to an equivalent sense of vastness, for the 13,000 foot plateaus afford panoramic views of the San Juan and West Elk ranges. Trophy class elk and mule deer find this habitat to their liking and several hundred of both roam the area. The front portion of the ranch is mainly hay meadow with big views into the Powderhorn Wilderness. It is planted with Timothy, Broam, Clover and Alfalfa. Historically the hay production is between 100 to 180 tons per year. Starlight Meadow Ranch is just what the name implies -- acres and acres of meadows lit by the stars so brightly that nighttime never really falls.
