Growing up in the caribbean coastline of Colombia, we never let go of our worn out swim shorts and some kind of novel trinket: a handmade fishing rod or a wooden raft found at a forgotten beach. Our summer days consisted of spontaneous expeditions to Las Islas del Rosario or a friendly encounter with locals who taught us how to sail in the traditional piragua.

As we grew older our summer destinations became more venturous and our worn out swim shorts were soon replaced by PAPÚA pro-totypes. This time we embarked on a different kind of daring ven-ture: we were determined to make a premium and comfortable swim trunk with bold prints at a competitive price.

We envisioned a brand that would tell the story of our summer up-bringing in Cartagena de Indias. A luxury brand that not only of-fered premium quality and durable products, but also portrayed the free spirited youth eager for adventure in unexplored lands.
