Welcome and Announcements

Prayer

Prelude “Heut’ Triumphiret Gottes Sohn” J.S. Bach

*Call to Worship

This is God’s house, a holy temple.

We are in the midst of God’s dwelling place.

My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of God.

My heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Happy are those whom God has chosen to be here.

Blessed are all those whom God has forgiven and named.

Our voices rise in praise of God’s awesome deeds.

Mountains and seas bow down before the Creator.

God crowns the year with a bountiful harvest.

Flocks and grain fill the meadows.

God’s presence is felt to the ends of the earth.

All creation is God’s dwelling place, God’s home.

*Hymn #43 “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”

Prayer of Confession

How easily we have forgotten you, O God of our salvation. We

imagine that our prosperity is of our own design. We wander

into paths of self-righteousness and self-congratulation. We

compare ourselves with those whose sins are public knowledge

and consider ourselves better than they. O God, rescue us

from the evil inside us that alienates us from others and from

you. We humble ourselves before you, seeking forgiveness.

Amen.

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory “Jesu, Meine Freude” J.S. Bach

*Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye Heavenly Host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Prayer of Dedication

You have dealt wonderfully with us, gracious God. We have

gathered in your temple to praise you and to join in efforts to

share the faith with one another and with the world. Through

our offerings, we wish to extend the witness made here into

our neighborhoods, and, in ever-widening circles, to the ends

of the earth. Bless and multiply our efforts, we pray. Amen.

*Hymn #609 “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”

*Benediction

Postlude “In Dir Ist Freude” J.S. Bach

other. Did you know that you can order books from Scholastic to support our

preschool? There are catalogues available in our front hallway. If you order

through Scholastic using our code, PCDS gets points to use on the purchase of

books and other supplies for the classroom. We are working to earn enough

points to buy the classroom a drying rack so please consider buying from

Scholastic. Also, we still have openings in our 2-day, 3-day and pre-k. If you are

interested or know somebody interested please have them call us for more

information.

Next Sunday, November 3rd, at 2:00 pm, The Friends of the Schwenkfelder

history of the Valley Soccer Club in a presentation entitled The World at Our

Feet: 40 Years of the Valley Soccer Club. Following an introduction that touches

on soccer's global popularity and impact, Freed will discuss the formation and

early years of the Valley Soccer Club. He will describe how the Club grew in the

1980s and 1990s as well as the addition of soccer into Upper Perkiomen High

School athletics. The Club's continuing evolution throughout the 2000s and

School and has lived in the Upper Perkiomen Valley his entire life. One of the

founders of the Valley Soccer Club in 1980, Freed served as the Travel Team

Coordinator for the club for the first 17 years, as well as treasurer for more than

half that time. He still serves in an advisory role with the Club. Freed operated

Keystone United Overseas Travel, a sports travel business, from 1994 - 2003.

Raise the Roof Capital Campaign

It has come to the attention of the Board of Trustees that the roof on the

Christian Education building is in need of replacement. Contractors have

surveyed the roof and have determined that a new roof will be needed within the

next 2 to 3 years. In order to raise the funds needed for this project, the board

has decided to run a capital campaign entitled “Raise the Roof.” The campaign

will begin immediately and run through December 31, 2021 or until the

determined amount of $100,000 is reached. Please prayerfully consider helping

us protect and maintain our facility by donating to this very important campaign.

A progress chart will be posted in the narthex along with update reports in the

bulletin and newsletter. Thank you for your support,

Board of Trustees

Mission Trip to Puerto Rico

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to everyone who

helped make my mission trip to Puerto Rico possible. We did some very good

work and helped several people who are still recovering from the effects of

Hurricanes Irma and Maria more than 18 months after they hit the island.

It was my honor and privilege to represent not only the Pennsylvania Southeast

Conference, but Palm Schwenkfelder Church as we repaired buildings and

structures damaged by the storms, and helped people reclaim their lives and

communities and recover their identities. At some point in the near future I will

share my experiences on this mission trip with the congregation. Stay tuned for

an announcement about my presentation. And thank you again!! Dan Ferry

Bibles are also available for use during worship services, located on the

table to the left between the front and back sections of pews.

an usher to assist you.

A fully accessible restroom is located in the hallway, across from the
