Prelude

Call to Worship

Hymn “Day of Remembrance Hymn” Tune of Duke Street (Composed for the occasion by Kathy Bieler, Dave Luz and Nick Pence)

Come joyful servants let us sing

Sharing the story of our faith Echoing words from ages gone

And witnessed here in us today

Through persecution and distress

Facing grave perils, never swayed Exiled from their Silesian land

Our kindred's faith still firm and strong

Borne by "St. Andrew" they crossed the sea

'Midst furious waves and tempest strong Etched by their strife and pain of grief

Faithful, they followed Christ's own call

Led by their prayers to a new, fairer shore Haven for peace, with grace received

Humbly recalling 'twas God's own hand

Guiding them onward through life’s storms (cont. next page)

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.

TO OUR PALM SCHWENKFELDER FAMILY

ANNUAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE Our annual Day of Remembrance (Gedaechtnisz-Tag) will take place at

Central Schwenkfelder Church TODAY at 3:00 p.m. in their Fellowship

Hall. This is the longest, continuous-running Thanksgiving service in the

United States. Rev. Dr. Drake Williams’ topic will be “Do you

Remember?” from 2 Timothy 2:1-13. Following the service, the traditional

meal that the very 1st immigrants ate, of bread and apple butter will be

served. This year it will be served in individual zip lock baggies due to the

pandemic. So, we will eat together in safety. After the meal, we will hold a

short General Conference meeting in which the budget for 2021 will be

ratified and officers will be elected. We

encourage you to attend or at least

experience this unique aspect of early

American history either in person or

virtually! If you feel uncomfortable

attending, you can watch on either

Central’s Facebook page or YouTube

Channel as it will be live-streamed.

CELEBRATING THE MINISTRY OF BARBARA MASTER On August 31st, Barbara Master officially completed her time as Youth

Director of Palm Schwenkfelder Church. We give great thanks and glory

to God for over a decade of her service in Christ’s name. Barb has not

only left her fingerprints on T-shirts, aprons, and Annual Report covers

through her “Serving in Christ’s Name” logo, even more she has also

deeply impacted all of our lives with her dedication and faithfulness. While

we hope to be able to celebrate Barb’s ministry at some point without

social distancing restrictions in place, we do celebrate her gifts and share

with the entire congregation in offering our gratitude. Barb will not be a

stranger and does plan to continue working with Sunday School and other

aspects of church life. With our hope in Jesus Christ and heartfelt prayers

we ask for God’s abundant blessing to fill her as she continues to answer

Christ’s calling into a new day.

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

The Social Service Committee has been working during the pandemic.

We have been in touch with both Pennsburg Manor and Norristown

State Hospital and they both will accept our Christmas Stockings this

year. We need monies to fill stockings and would appreciate your

help. You may give what you can to any of the members of the

committee. Miriam Hausman, Ruth Weaver, Sally Wright, Sandy

Kriebel and Ethel Soffa.

RAISE THE ROOF CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

It has come to the attention of the Board of Trustees that the roof on the

Christian Education building is in need of replacement. Contractors

have surveyed the roof and have determined that a new roof will be

needed within the next 2 to 3 years. In order to raise the funds needed

for this project, the Board has decided to run a capital campaign entitled

“Raise the Roof.” The campaign will begin immediately and run through

December 31, 2021 or until the determined amount of $100,000 is

reached. Please prayerfully consider helping us protect and maintain

our facility by donating to this very important campaign. A progress

chart will be posted in the narthex along with update reports in the

bulletin and newsletter. Thank you for your support, Board of Trustees

The flowers on the altar today are presented

in loving memory of Pauline Kloenne by her family.

The bulletins for this Sunday were sponsored in loving memory of our parents, by Alex and Joanne Jalowy.

Did You Know…?

This is where we list items of interest to members and visitors. If you

have any items to add, please call or email Leslie in the church office.

Thank you.

Considerations for returning to In-person worship:

o Stay at home if you don’t feel well.

o We encourage everyone age 2 and older to wear your

mask throughout the service. If you must remove it,

please do so ONLY when seated, and be sure to put it

on again when talking with others or leaving your seat.

o Hand sanitizer, wipes and masks will be available.

o Only 1st floor restrooms of the educational wing will be

available.

o Social distancing will be practiced. Members of the

same household may sit together.

o Please do not congregate together before/after

services.

CCTV – We broadcast the Sunday worship service on closed

circuit televisions in both the Nursery and the Adult Sunday

School Room.

LARGE PRINT bulletins are available.

A fully accessible restroom is located in the hallway, across

from the office. A baby changing table is there, also.

There are two yellow and green bins at the back of the parking

lot for recycling your office paper and newspaper. The

church benefits from these collections, along with helping the

environment.

In case of an emergency, there is an AED (Automated

External Defibrillator) located in the rear of the sanctuary, in

the alcove where the mailboxes are and where the sound

system is kept.
