Paleo Breakfast - The Paleo Diet - To Try or Not to Try There's nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight. We all want to be thinner. How you lose weight is important. The only way you can lose weight and not gain any of it back is if you modify your diet and get on an exercise program. But exactly what changes must you make? What diet plan must you stick to? You might want to give the Paleo diet a try. Its basis is the diet supposedly consumed by early humans during the Paleolithic era. Of course, its historical accuracy is very much open for debate. So is the Paleo diet a diet you should try? To help you decide, we're sharing some information regarding the diet. One thing you can expect from being in the Paleo diet is zero consumption of refined sugar. Fruits and vegetables have natural sugars and these are perfectly fine. This is because refined sugar causes energy surges and crashes. As a result, it's hard to stay on a normal energy level. It isn't good for your health as well. Your teeth's enamel is worn away by refined sugar. Not only that, your whole body sustains damage as well. So when you get on the Paleo diet, be prepared to not eat any refined sugars regardless of your weight loss goals. The Paleo diet, at its core, is mimicking the diet that early humans supposedly ate. Of course, those who believe this and espouse this aren't really history or archaeology experts. It is true that when following the general principles of this diet, people do tend to lead healthier lives. They are at a reduced risk of diabetes, heart disease and they really can lose weight. Still, if you are taking on this diet because you believe it is historically accurate, you are sadly mistaken. The reality is that dieticians are the ones who have been building upon this diet for close to forty years. At the heart of it is the fact that these dieticians simply want to sell books and profit from their variant of the Paleo diet. Most diets restrict the size of your meal portions. With the Paleo diet, however, portion size is relative. Your portion sizes are dependent on your purpose for being on the diet. So if you're following the Paleo diet to lose weight, you'd obviously have to eat smaller portions. However, if you're on the Paleo diet as an athlete, your portion sizes would be bigger. It's up to you if you want to get on the Paleo diet. You'll find that this diet has a number of variants so you can easily move on to a different one if you find it's not something for you. Really, the only person who can tell you whether or not it will be good for your health is your doctor.
