CancerCare Manitoba Foundation has launched an incredible campaign for Manitobans featuring Oncologist Dr. Ryan Zarychanski. The campaign is plain and simple: “KICK CANCER”. Did you know you can reduce your risk of cancer by up to 50% by following these 5 steps. 1) BE SMOKE FREE 2) EAT WELL 3) SHAPE UP 4) COVER UP 5) GET CHECKED Please join me and the movement by taking the pledge at kickcancer. ca. Together we can reduce the risk of cancer and build a healthier Manitoba. I had the previledge of visiting CancerCare Manitoba, fortunately I was there as a visitor and not as a patient. However if I ever do need their services, I can say with confidence, I would be taken care by the amazing staff and volunteers at CancerCare. The positive energy and compassion is heart warming. Since 2000, the Foundation has donated more than $85 million to fund the critical work of CancerCare. The Foundation will continue their beneficial fundraising with the ultimate goal of continuing to help Manitobans and their families living with a cancer diagnosis. You can support CancerCare by attending any of the following signature events: 1) Challenge for Life 20Km Walk for all cancers – June 7, Assiniboine Park 2) A Gold Plated Evening for Men’s Cancer – April 30 – RBC Convention Centre 3) Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival in partnership with Children’s Hospital Foundation in support of children’s cancer – Sept 12-14 at the Forks 4) Guardian Angel Benefit for Women’s Cancer – Date TBD Plus, did you know there are more than 400 community events as well, visit cancercarefdn.mb.ca.
