Dear Parishioners, The office of Our Lady of La Salette is writing to inform you that our Pastor, Father Pedro Poloche, has tested positive for COVID-19. The people we
believe to have been the most exposed have already been contacted. In an abundance of caution we ask that anyone who has been in "close contact" with our
Pastor, Father Pedro Poloche, get tested and to quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure. If you are unsure of your exposure, visit the CDC website for more
information. We continue to encourage all parishioners to temperature scan and monitor
themselves and their families closely for any signs of potential illness. Parishioners should remain at home if they are sick or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19
including fever, new or persistent cough, headache, loss of taste or smell, fatigue and/or stomach issues (diarrhea). We ask that that you continue to wash your hands frequently and to socially distance from others when possible. We also strongly
recommend that you wear a mask or other face covering when social distancing is difficult.

Listen to the Word (John 1:35-42)
As you hear this familiar story of Jesus calling his first disciples,
what words or phrases strike you? What in this reading touches
your heart?
Look into your life
Question for children: What can you do this week to show that
you are a follower of Jesus?
Question for youth: Andrew seemed to know immediately that he
should follow Jesus. Do you have that same sense of confidence in
your faith in Jesus? What helps? What makes it hard?
Question for adults: In what ways do you experience being called
by Jesus? What does he want you to do?
Activities for the week:
Take these activities to further reflect:
-Today’s readings can lead to a family discussion about
vocation – God’s call and our response. Talk about listing to God’s
call and taking action. Share stories of people you know of who are
living their vocations well.
-Choose one of the following persons to interview: your
mother, father, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, pastor, or some
other person you admire. Ask the person to tell you how he or she
knew what special task God had in mind for them. Who helped
them? With whom did they discuss it? What were the signs of
God’s special call to them? Share your findings with your family.
-Make “I am a Follower of Jesus” badges with each family
member’s name. Form a circle with your family. Take turns sharing
what you can do this week to show that you are a follower of Jesus.
-God speaks to us in many ways – through nature, people,
music, events, silence, literature, the Bible, and so on. Discuss the
following question with your family: How do you experience being
called by God?
Community and Family Catechesis
The Knights of Columbus here at Our Lady of Lasalette are
looking for Hispanic men of the Parish to become Knights and
to serve the Parish and our Community. We support
programs in the areas of Faith, Family, Pro-Life, and
Community. We are starting a Hispanic Roundtable with
meetings and activities in Spanish. There will be an
installation as a member of the Knights of Columbus in
Spanish on January 30th at 9:00 am. Contact Gary Selden or
the parish office to join.

Pregunta para los niños: ¿Qué puedes hacer esta semana para
mostrar que eres seguidor de Jesús?
Pregunta para los jóvenes: Andrés parecía saber inmediatamente
que debía seguir a Jesús. ¿Tienes ese mismo sentido de confianza
en tu fe en Jesús? ¿Qué te ayuda? ¿Qué te lo hace difícil?

Sanitizing Lamps Reminder
The administration would like to remind parishioners of the
sanitizing lamps used after every Mass. These lamps use
UV rays to sanitize large areas. This allows us as a church
to have a quicker and more efficient process of sanitizing
after every Mass.
Due to the intensity of the UV rays from the sanitizing lamps,
it is very dangerous to enter while they are still sanitizing.
The UV lamps could cause injuries to the eyes and burns to
the skin.
