Advent, the beginning of the new Church year is upon us. In between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we celebrated the First Sunday of Advent. This year, since Advent started on the 27 th of November and Christmas is on a Sunday, we actually have four complete weeks of preparation and celebration in this holy season. In the midst of all that goes into the Christmas holiday preparations here at school and in your homes, I would invite each of us to take a little time to remember why we have this celebration. Here is an Advent prayer that could accompany us on the journey: God of eternal mercy and love, I lift my heart in prayer to you Throughout these Advent days. Grant me patience As I prepare the way For the Christ’s coming. Inspire me with hope To await eagerly The return of Christ in glory. Fill me with joy To cry out with the whole Church Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus! A most blessed Advent to all, S. Janice Therese, O.P. Let us pray. For joy and fun and safety for our 8 th graders, Mrs. Hughes, and parent chaperones, who are away at the 8 th grade CYO camp this week; For the homeless, especially during these cold, damp days.

We are soon approaching that special time to give thanks for the many blessings that we have received this year. It is time for us to share those blessings with others in our parish, those that are not as fortunate as ourselves. Our Lady of Guadalupe School has chosen to donate toys to St. Vincent de Paul this Christmas. Please have your child bring a new toy (appropriate to your own child’s age) to his/her classroom. With your help we can insure that every child in our community will get a toy this Christmas. Please deliver toys to your child’s classroom before Thursday, December 15th. Many blessings to you and your family this Christmas Season.

MAY THE LORD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU

FOR YOUR GENEROSITY.
