populations within the Kensington community.

Serving as a “Beacon of Hope” the Center

embraces and celebrates the diverse cultures in

this community focusing on empowering youth,

seniors and the immigrant population.

“Now I can feed my family

tonight thanks to the food

pantry.” Local Resident

Our History

In 2003 the Archdiocese of Philadelphia opened

the Cardinal Bevilacqua Center as a response to

the needs of the community. For years the Center

was run by Catholic Social services and in 2010,

the Center was turned over to BVM Parish and

today it is serves over 30,000 people each year.
