PONTEFRACT TOWN HALL
This 18th Century Town Hall is the perfect location for old fashion theatre and live entertainment. In the 1800s, when the
Town Hall was in its hay day theatre was a business, a living business.
The breathtaking auditorium still displays this passion and houses it’s original features
of the bygone days of delightful evenings with great actors and great plays under the subdued lighting of oil lamps. The Town Hall’s character and charm bring together a variety of different
acts which make it the ideal setting for comedy, theatre, music and large events.
The original Magistrates Court is steeped in 18th century history and still houses its Victorian magistrates bench and the original plaster cast frieze used for Nelson’s column, which bring to life the character and charm of this extraordinary room.Making this the perfect backdrop to any television drama or period fi lm.
