we used a PLaster ModeL oF a ForMer ProJect, and by PLacing it in 10x10x10 Meters cube, we gave in an entireLy diFFerent scaLe and interPretation. the idea was then to create a “visiting sPace” For this waLL, that Made us understand the diFFerent asPects oF this voLuMe, and to guide the visitor in this Mysterious obJect, according to our PersonaL interPretation oF it. the visitor never actuaLLy touches the waLL, but gets very cLose to it, Maintaining the enigMatic aura that the waLL eMits.

the idea in this ProJect was to work on the sPace that seParates two Large PLates. this work is an interPretation oF a text by itaLo caLvino (cities and the dead), where one oF the PLates rePresents a “Living” visitabLe sPace, whiLe the other one is a two diMensionaL ProJection oF this sPace.
aPart FroM the concePtuaL asPect oF this work, it is the research on MiniMaList aesthetics and the PossibiLities oF PLaster that interested Me.

the PurPose oF this ProJect was to use a Preexisting siLo structure to buiLd archives. the PrograM is 1/3 archive, 1/3 exhibition sPace, to PubLicLy Present the stored obJects, and 1/3 service area aLLowing work on the archives.
the concePt was to FuLLy seParate those three PrograMs and to Make theM sPin around the centraL axis oF the buiLding, in which you Find verticaL circuLation. the height oF the sPaces, whose diMensions are dictated by the size oF the siLo coMPartMents, is increased as you near the toP oF the buiLding.
in this Manner you obtain a continuous sPaciaL seQuence For each oF the PrograM, For which each coMPartMent can be aFFected to a diFFerent task.

the obJective oF this ProJect was to conceive Modern Methods For industriaL Production and to iMPLeMent theM in an “urban Factory” in zurich. our concePt was to seParate the buiLding in Four sPaces that can each be assigned to one tyPe oF industry. those sPaces are then rented to sMaLL coMPanies who can share the Maintenance and Machinery costs.
the sPaces on the PeriPhery are created so that each coMPany has its own surFaces, as weLL as shared surFaces between diFFerent coMPanies that encourage interaction and creative thinking.

the studio’s obJective was to rethink PreFabrication with concrete bLocks. the PaviLion is buiLt with as geoMetric Locking systeM between the Pieces, with non reinForced concrete (excePt For rooF Pieces). the PaviLion is buiLt using onLy eight diFFerent reusabLe MoLds, but each Facade is diFFerent because oF FoaM add-ons in the MoLds that aLLow us to PLay with the PercePtion oF the “cracks” between the Pieces.
at night, thanks to a LaMP in the center oF the PaviLion, Light can escaPe through the Fissures that seParate soMe oF the Pieces, Making the heavy and Massive obJect aPPear Light and LuMinous.
the studio work ranged FroM reFLexion on the PossibiLities oF concrete bLocks PreFabrication to the buiLding oF the ProJect, with the MoLding oF the bLocks, the Logistics, and FinnaLy the on-site asseMbLy.

the brieF oF the coMPetition was to conceive a new auditoriuM For chaLMers university in sweden. the sLoPPy site at the caMPus entrance was a reQuisite. My obJective was to create a very thin and eLegant buiLding that wouLd Fit in the sLoPe.
this gives the oPPortunity For a Large and wide Foyer that aLso Possesses an exhibition sPace, the recePtion area, a wardrobe and a sMaLL bar, hence serving the interaction asPect Much wanted in a university. this eLongated sPace oFFers a succession oF views as we FoLLow the LogicaL route in the buiLding (entrance, wardrobe, bar, auditoriuM).
