The Origins Centre (located at University of the Witwatersrand) is dedicated to exploring and celebrating the history of humankind, telling the story of the emergence of modern humans in southern Africa. Learners, Educators & Tourists have an opportunity to experience Africa’s rich, complex and sometimes mysterious past. Our alignment to the education curriculum is particulary important. The Centre’s collections address progressive and transformational curricula, which covers a wide variety of topics relating to palaeoanthropology, archaeology, rock art and the indigenous Khoisan communities.
