NSO Leader Application- SP2011 1 New Student Orientation is taking on a new look this summer. Our goal is to create more opportunities for students to connect with other students and hear about your experience at College of DuPage. We are looking for students who: Feel they have something valuable and important to share with incoming students and families Are currently enrolled at College of DuPage and will be returning fall 2011 Are in good standing at COD (minimum GPA of 2.0) Have good time management, communication, and speaking skills Are able to work in a team environment and amongst diverse groups Desire to work with students, faculty, and staff Have a positive, enthusiastic, and motivated attitude Are comfortable or willing to address groups of people To participate in the Orientation Leader Program you must be available April 27-29, 2011 for an interview. Benefits and Compensation Exceptional experience in leadership, public speaking, active listening and teamwork Be part of a team. Meet new friends and share in several group activities, including training and social activities Develop connections with various faculty and staff while learning more about the college process and resources available at College of DuPage Letter(s) of recommendation upon successful completion of the program Make a positive contribution to the community as you make the most of your college experience Compensation for work completed during Orientation. Received upon completion Preferred Parking Permit/Follett’s Gift Card- a combined $200 value. Students may opt for gift card only. Requirements for Orientation Leader include, but are not limited to:

Must be a student currently enrolled at College of DuPage

Must be in good standing at COD (minimum GPA of 2.0)

Have good time management, communication, and speaking skills

Ability to work in a team environment and amongst diverse groups

Desire to work with students, faculty, and staff 

Have a positive, enthusiastic, and motivated attitude

Be comfortable or willing to address groups of people

Applicants must have two recommendation forms (attached) completed by:

College of DuPage faculty, staff, or administration

Current or previous supervisor at a job, community service project, or volunteer position

Recommendation forms cannot be completed by the Manager of Student Life, Coordinator of 

Student Life, or Coordinator of Student Retention and Engagement 

Please submit Recommendation Letters with application or send directly to Office of Student Life

(deadline is same as application).

Individual interviews are required of all applicants. Interviews will take place April 27-29, 2011. Once

your application is reviewed, if you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted for an

appointment.
