Meal Plan Program
Required for first-entry students living on campus
One-year commitment, billed by semester
Plans offer a variety of options; students can select choices that best fit their needs
Meal plans save money on food expense
The “Meals” Component• “Rules” part of the plan• Meal plans have a structured number of meals per week or
semester, except for the Freedom Pass plan• 19 meal periods per week are offered• One meal = all you can eat in the dining halls• Can be applied toward meals at campus restaurants• Start over every Saturday (except for Block Plans)
• The “No Rules” part of the meal plan
• Choose from $100, $200, or $300
• Buy extra meals, shop at C-Stores and vending machines
• Cover the additional cost of campus restaurant meals after the Equivalency amount is reached
• Make tax-free purchases at all locations except for C-Stores and vending machines
The “Board Bucks” Component
Board BucksPart of the meal plan
Accepted at dining halls,C-stores and vending machines
Required for both semesters for applicable meal plans
Expire at end of spring semester
Board Bucks vs AllCampus AccountWhat’s the Difference?
Can be used to pay for goods and services at a variety of campus locations in addition to dining
Voluntary program
Rolls forward until funds are spent or account is closed
Both offer tax-free purchasing power at campus restaurants and dining halls
• Transfers the value of a dining hall meal to a campus restaurant
• Included in all meal plans
Equivalency: What is It?
Meal equivalency values: Breakfast $4.75
Lunch $5.85Dinner $5.85
Equivalency: How it Works
1. Cashier rings up price of purchase
2. System subtracts cost up to meal equivalency amount
3. Student uses Board Bucks, AllCampus or cash to cover the rest
Selection applies for each semester
You can change your choice for spring, but you must have Board Bucks for both semesters
(unless plan does not require them)
Unspent Board Bucks roll forward from fall to spring
Board Bucks expire after spring semester final examsand are non-refundable.
