Vinegar
Compound Name: Ethanoic Acid
Chemical Formula: CH3COOH
Characteristics: Most vinegars are very liquid. Some vinegars such as
traditional balsamic vinegar, however, are highly concentrated and have a
thick consistency similar to syrup.
Uses:
Commonly used in food preparation, particularly
in pickling processes, vinaigrettes, and othersalad dressings. It is an ingredient in sauces such as mustard, ketchup, and
mayonnaise.
White vinegar applied as a spray to tissue draped over a sunburn
helps restore the lost acidic level to the skin, and gives a cooling
effect.
Used to fight infections.
Vinegar can be an effective antibacterial cleaning agent on hard
surfaces such as washroom tiles and countertops. Applying vinegar to common jellyfish stings deactivates

Common Salt
