Now is a great time to purchase school supplies for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Items needed are: pencils, pens, 24-pack crayons, children’s scis-sors, erasers (cap & wedge), pencil sharpeners, small notebooks that can fit in a shoebox. The deadline for shoeboxes this year is November 18th.

During Vacation Bible School, $44.40 was raised for the Children’s Hunger Fund’s Food Pak Program! With the Food Pak program, 20 pounds of staple foods, designed to supplement a family of four for about a week, are delivered to those in need around the world. Each meal costs 25 cents and each Food Pak contains about 48 meals. News from Latin America Area Director John Gilbert

Mexico

This year, instead of having differ-ent summer camps for men, wom-en, youth, etc., the Mexican AC Conference chose to have one sum-mer family camp with activities and programs included for the various groups. The camp was held at “Acampamento Tres Cruces”(Three Crosses Campground) located be-tween Ensenada and Tecate. There were over 100 people in attendance at the camp. The keynote speaker for the event was founder and presi-dent of the “Jehovah Sama” Bible Institute in Ensenada, Pastor Carlos Montoya. Brother Montoya is a man I consider to be a modern-day hero of faith. He has trained a fair number of our pastors as well as many others throughout the Baja Peninsula of Mexico over the years.
