OPTIGRUM 3D is a 3D scanner for linear log carriage which analyses the log profile of the sawed face on 120° of the front face. Each log face is scanned after log turning. The MUDATA optimizing software is compatible with different kind of sensors. Optigrum 3-‐D scanner consists with X powerful PC and 3D sensors (X=Number of sensors). Each 3D sensor features 4, 6 or 12 lasers and 2 cameras. Cameras take pictures of lasers projected every 305 mm, 250 or 125 mm along the log length. 2 modes of operation are available: -‐ The snapshot mode allows to scan the log face every 125mm (F1 version only) and to align the log on the Minimum Opening Face (M.O.F.) or the Best Opening Face (B.O.F.). The scanning time is very fast (less than 1 second). -‐ The full scan mode allows to scan completely the log face by moving the carriage feed drive by the gap distance separating two laser beams (305, 250 or 125mm) and to align the log on the M.O.F. or B.O.F.
TOUCHSCREEN PC SETWORKS 3D SENSORS SENSORS
The operator can select different opening face presets according to log grade or profile and can recover automatically short lumber products, previously programmed, in the slab. The operator’s interface is integrated in the MUDATA MUL601 Touch Screen PC Setworks. This user-‐friendly Touch Screen PC Setworks allows high yield recovery and productivity. Full taper, half taper and no taper alignments are available.

OPTIMIZATION IN MINIMUM OPENING FACE MODE The operator select on the Touch Screen PC Setworks the appropriate preset which features: the minimum opening face in inches, the minimum opening face length in inches and the percentage of taper. It is also possible to program presets to recover short products in the slab automatically (thickness x width x Length). OPTIMIZATION IN BEST OPENING FACE MODE The operator selects on the Touch Screen PC Setworks the following presets: half taper and No taper alignment presets, Main Cants presets (width x thickness), Side Cants (Thickness x Full Length Opening Face) and Side boards dimensions presets (thickness x M.O.F. width x M.O.F. Length).
