What is OneNote?• It is a program created by Microsoft, similar to

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.• Ultimately, it is a note-taking program that lacks the

ridged structure of Word.• It supports all types of content (images, video,

audio, scribbling, etc.).• There is no save button. Instead, it automatically

saves and syncs to the cloud after every change.• It allows for easy integration of Word, Excel, and

PowerPoint.

How is it organized?

• OneNote is organized in Notebooks. • Within each notebook, an infinite number of pages

within sections and subsections can be created.• Each page can be as large or as small as you want.• The background of each page can be customized as

well.

Sharing a Notebook

• Any notebook can be shared with anyone via a link or email. • Each person it is shared with can be given editing

privileges or view-only privileges.• Because it does not need to be saved, it updates in

real-time for anyone viewing the notebook.• Notebooks can be viewed through OneNote, any

web browser, or the Android/iOS app.

Content Library

• Only instructors can edit the content library. Students have view-only access. However, students can copy pages to their student notebook for editing.• This is perfect for distributing handouts or posting

class notes.

Student Notebooks

• This is a private space for each student. Instructors can view and edit all student notebooks, however, students can only view and edit their own notebook. In other words, students can not see other students notebooks.• This is great for giving student feedback.

creating an account. You can then provide a link to those collections for your students to complete.• If you create an account, you can save and modify

collections to better suit your needs. Just remember, anything you create becomes public domain.• If your students create an account, you can track

their progress and their comprehension.
