Eni announces an oil discovery on the A-2X exploration prospect in the South West Meleiha license, in the Egyp-tian Western Desert, some 103 km north of the oasis of Siwa. The well is the �rst one drilled by Eni to explore the deep geological sequences of the Faghur basin.

The exploratory well, named SWM A-2X, has been drilled to a total depth of 5,090 m and encountered 18 m of light oil in the Paleozoic sandstones of Dessouky formation of Carboniferous age. The well has also encountered other hydrocarbon levels in the Alam El Bueib sandstones of Cretaceous age.

The well has been opened to production in the Dessouky sandstones and delivered 2,300 bpd of light oil (32° API) and 0.4 MMscfd of associated gas.

Easily read the results of ASTM D3359: Stan-dard Test Methods for Rating Adhesion by Tape Test.The cross hatch tape test method, also known as ASTM D3359, is a simple qualita-tive means of classifying a coating's adhe-sion. In essence, a multi-toothed blade is used to score parallel lines through a coating to the substrate. The same blade is used to score the coating again but at 90 degrees to the �rst set of lines to produce a cross-hatched pattern. A section of PA-280630 tape is then applied to the hatched area and subsequently pulled from the coating to remove any loose paint. The hatched area is then examined and com-pared to a set of images in ASTM Test Method D3359 to determine the classi�ca-tion rating of the coating.

India asked Japan on Tuesday to help build infrastructure needed to boost the usage of lique�ed natural gas (LNG) in India and elsewhere in Asia, India’s oil minister Dharmendra Prad-han said after a meeting with Japan’s trade minister Hiroshige Seko.

India wants to increase the share of gas, which is a cleaner fuel than oil, to 15 percent of its energy usage by 2030 from 6.2 percent currently.

Petrofac has signed an agreement to sell the JSD 6000 deepwater derrick lay vessel project to Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC).

The transaction comprises the sale of all JSD 6000 related assets held by Petrofac, including the owner furnished equipment, for a gross consider-ation of $190 million and a 10% interest in a new special purpose vehicle set up to own the vessel once commissioned.The announcement comes after the termination of the building contract by Petrofac in October 2015, following which ZPMC informed that it will take legal action against the company.Petrofac will now provide technical support for the construction of the vessel, which is expected to com-plete in 2022.
