Creating a new retail dimension

Bedshed, a bedding and bedroom furniturespecialist in Australia, is one retailer keen to ridethenewtechnologywaveofdigital in-storecommunications.

Digital retail revolutionBedshed wanted to deliver an even greaterin-store experience, driving sales as well aslearning more about its customers. Therefore the companystartedtolookforatechnologydrivensolution to reinforce their multichannel marketing communications strategy online and offline in-store. The solutionAfter extensive consultation, a solution wasdesigned to run on internet-enabled touch screen kiosks provided byAOPENusing theOpenSignplatform.Theproject took just sixmonths fromsign off to implementation, with all parties collaboratingcloselyonthesetupanddesign.

A wishlistThe resulting kiosks provide shoppers witheverything from product catalogues to a virtualwishlist, enabling them to develop customisedPDF brochures of their desired products.

One interesting challenge Bedshed hadencountered was that many customers weredelayingpurchasedecisionsbecausetheirpartnerwasn’tinthestorewiththem.Again,technologysteppedintofixtheissue.
