Protesting in Egypt: The Cost of Free-

dom

By Peyton

Once again chaos has broken

out in Egypt. In 2010 Egypt overthrew

President Hosni Mubarak because he

was a dictator. Now, in 2012, the new

president is not any better. Protesting

has broken out in Tahrir square and

Cairo University. Twenty three oppo-

nents of Mohamed Morsi were claimed to

set fire in his party’s office in many differ-

ent Egyptian cities.

All the Egyptians want is to

have a good president for once, not a

president that dictates your every move!

Many people who are protesting have

been injured. At one point the president

even released tear gas. More news will be

stated later. I just have one question for

Mr. Morsi: Do you really believe that

violence is a good way to solve problems?

Good luck to Egypt protesters.

CHRISTMAS IS HERE

NO MORE HOSTESS? By: Bailey Every company has to come to an end. But who knew Hostess’s would come so soon? That’s right, Hostess

has gone out of business. For good this time. After more than 80 years of Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Ho Hos,

nobody thought that would end any time soon. With a dramatic loss of nearly 20,000 jobs Hostess is gone.

Who to blame? US. The world is changing and so are we. People are starting to be concerned about health

and calories. Which Hostess has to much of in the opinion of adults. So children

prepare yourselves for a life with- out Hostess.

Elf on the shelf

By: Madeline and Emily The elf on a shelf is a magical Christmas tradition. Families all over the world

have an elf. Our elf’s names are Ricky and Simon. I don’t know about you but

our elves are pretty mischievous! Every night the elf’s meet up at the north

pole and report to Santa how their how you have been behaving. But when you

wake up he has found a new hiding spot. Who can find him first? You cannot

touch your elf or he will not come back. Your elf will arrive anywhere from

thanksgiving to December 5th. The elf’s are lots of fun so we hope you get one

soon!

Formula 1 is mostly a sport well known in other countries across the world. Now for the

first time since 2008 F1 is coming to the United States. The best part is that it is right here

in Austin. It is not exactly in Austin it is just outside of Austin. My Dad went to one of the

races on the second day. He said it was very loud so to warn those of you who do not like

very loud things. Most of the tickets sold for about $ 1500! Although, others that cost less

like some go for about $ 100. Lewis Hamilton was the first winner at the Circuit of the

Americas track. In November the world champion of F1 was crowned.

His name was Sebastian Vettle and his sponsor was Red Bull and now

Red Bull is one of the world’s most popular brands.

WORK

Tonight is

This year the fifth took a field trip to the

Blanton Museum of art. The Blanton is located at the

capital of Texas. The fifth grade went in separate

groups. On the fourth Mrs.Leals class and Mrs. Calla-

way’s class went to the Blanton. On the sixth Ms.

Cox’s and Mrs. Vargas’s went to the Blanton. Lastly

Mr. Jennings class and Mrs. Vandivers class went to the

Blanton. We saw many different exhibits. One of the

exhibits is the pennies (the room in the picture). There

is exactly 600,000 pennies that equals $6,000! The

object going down the middle is called communion

wafers. You find communion wafers in a church as the

body of Christ. Lastly the objects hanging from the top

are cow bones. Hope you had fun fifth grade!
