    2 - REVENUE MANAGEMENT2 & jktLo izca/ku2.1 Contribution The ESI Scheme is financed by contributions collected from the employees and employers covered under the ESI

    Scheme. Under Section 39, read with section 40 of the ESI Act, principal employer is responsible for depositing the employees' and employers' contribution @ 1.75% and 4.75% of the wages respectively in respect of employees drawing monthly wages upto ` 15,000/-i.e.prescribedlimit.

    2.2 Collection of Contribution A total contribution of `9632.54Croreswascollectedduringtheyear2013-2014asagainstcontributionof` 8111.45

    Crores collected in the year 2012-13. There has been an increase in contribution of ` 1521.09 Crores over the previous year, which is 18.75% more than the previous year's contribution. The contribution income also includes the dues of contributionrecoveredfromthedefaultingemployersbytheRecoveryOfficers.

    2.5 Recovery of Arrears

    In order to ensure effective recovery of the dues of the Corporation, the provision of Sections 45-C to 45-I has been made in the Principal Act by an amendment in the ESI Act 1989, thereby enabling the Corporation to set up its own recovery machinery for realizing the dues of the Corporation. Accordingly, Corporation's own recovery machinery came intoexistence inphasesfromJanuary,1992onwardsandRecoveryMachinery isnowfunctioning inall theRegions/Sub-regions.ARecoveryCellhasalsobeensetupattheHqrs.OfficetomonitortheprogressofrecoveryofduesandwatchingtheperformanceoftheRecoveryOfficersintheregions/sub-regions.

    Out of the total arrears of ` 1754.14 crores as on 31.3.2014, an amount of ` 630.79croresaccountingfor35.96%ofthetotal arrears falls in the category of recoverable arrears.     3.1 Provision of Medical Benefit Medical care for Insured Person and family is admissible from day-one of entering into insurable employment through a

    network of ESI Hospitals, ESI Dispensaries, Panel Clinics and diagnostic centres as well as through tie-up arrangements with other medical institutions. As per the ESI Act, 1948, the State Governments have been entrusted with the responsibility of providing reasonable medical care to the insured persons and their families. Treatment is provided through both Allopathy and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathy) system of medicines. The ESI Scheme provides primary, secondary and tertiary care to the Insured Persons and their family members.

    3.2 Infrastructure The Corporation is taking steps to periodically upgrade its infrastructure. By the end of March 2014, the Corporation

    had commissioned 19615 beds in 151ESIHospitals and 694 beds in 42Hospital annexes.     3.1 Provision of Medical Benefit Medical care for Insured Person and family is admissible from day-one of entering into insurable employment through a

    network of ESI Hospitals, ESI Dispensaries, Panel Clinics and diagnostic centres as well as through tie-up arrangements with other medical institutions. As per the ESI Act, 1948, the State Governments have been entrusted with the responsibility of providing reasonable medical care to the insured persons and their families. Treatment is provided through both Allopathy and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathy) system of medicines. The ESI Scheme provides primary, secondary and tertiary care to the Insured Persons and their family members.

    3.2 Infrastructure The Corporation is taking steps to periodically upgrade its infrastructure. By the end of March 2014, the Corporation

    3.10 Family Welfare Services ESIC follows National Health Programme including Immunization & Family welfare. In order to promote small family

Major achievements under the Family Welfare programme for last three years i.e 2011-12, 2012-13 &2013-14are reflected inAppendix III-Eand the immunizationstatementshowing thenumberofdosesofvaccinesadministeredduringtheabovesaidperiodarereflectedinAppendix:III-F.CashprizeandMeritCertificateareawardedto best three performing states every year.
