Week:October 19th-23rd
Social Studies: We will continue Unit
1. In Unit 1 we will discuss where we
live. This unit will also introduce the
students to the different places in
which people live and will describe the
characteristics of each of these places.
Spelling: We will be working on Unit 8
this week. Each word ends with a
consonant sound. This consonant
sound is spelled with two letters that
are the same. They will have a test on
Friday, October 23rd.
From the TeacherThe weather is starting to become
chilly so make sure your child has a
coat. Sweaters and sweatshirts are
great for in the classroom as well!
Conferences: Mrs. Ingram sent out
the link to sign up for conferences,
which are October 28th and 29th. Check
in last week’s newsletter for the link!
We will be having the firefighters from
Pierce Township visit on Tuesday to
teach us about Fire Prevention.
On Friday, we have a presentation
called the Ned Show. It is a fun
program about character development.
Religion: We will finish Chapter
5 this week. Chapter 5 is about
learning that God sent his son,
Jesus, to restore our friendship
with him. We will be having a
test on Thursday, October 22nd.

before the test.
Reading: We will be finishing
Lesson 4 this week. The story
for this Lesson is Diary of a
Spider, which is a favorite for
students! This week we will
focus sounds for G, nouns and
using context clues in a story.
Ask your child about Daily Five
and what they are doing during
it. They will love to share! Keep
reading for Accelerated
Reader! The month is coming
to an end next week and we
want to meet out goals!
Science: We will continue Unit 1.
In Unit 1 we will learn how to work
like a scientist. We will learn
about inquiry skills. The students
will learn that they use inquiry skills to search for information
and to learn about things.
Math: We will be finishing
Chapter 2 this week. We will do
word problems with 3- digit
numbers as well as >, = and <.
They will be having a test on
Tuesday, October 20th.We will
then start Chapter 3. This
Chapter over Addition and
Subtraction facts and different
strategies to solve problems.
