OCUL
Provides an environment for collaboration Agreements via OCUL are cost effective Resources are distributed from a central
source (Scholars Portal) IR Group oversees electronic resource
negotiations, licencing, acquisition etc. BUT universities can make their own
agreements with producers
DINO
DINO can identify potential databases / resources
Can request trials at the OCUL level Can exchange information about the
products Can collect and consolidate comments Make a recommendation to the IR Group Maintain lines of communication with the
IR reps at home institutions.
Data - iGoStats
6 month trial Difficult because
Restrictions on databases available Restrictions on downloading 8 different products Some libraries already subscribed to some
products Statistical tables but not print publications
Limited response from librarians because of the above.
Vendor a little slow in responding to questions
Discussion
What do we do about iGoStats? What have we learned? What is next? Are there other products we want to
consider?
