Hello Ladies! I hope you are glad we’re all back together again working for the kids. You can’t say that this end of our summer hiatus isn’t busy – we’ve had a lot on our plates these past few weeks!

August ended with many of us helping out at the Corn Fest – this is a worthy event that we’ve supported for many years now.

And then we jumped right into our various meetings and getting ready for our own Sphinx Court Carnival! If you missed it, you missed a great time. We had lots of little kids who had an absolute blast – and so many of our men walked around with their faces painted by our Clowns. We have so many people to thank for helping make this Carnival the success it was – several of our Shrine Men created games for us – and even manned them! These men helped set up and tear down. Many even spent lots of their own $$ supporting us. To our Ladies, what can I say – you always come through! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ALL!!

We had a wonderful Membership Tea – and a

fine one it was! Our Tea was well attended by members and guests alike. It is so nice to have our Teas in a home – so much cozier. We had several beautiful ladies sign petitions and we’re looking forward to initiating them and including them in our LOS work.

Our Grand High Priestess Official Visit was a HUGE highlight! Didn’t you like the way the auditorium was so festive? Lady Carol Sue Rob-erts is such a lovely lady and our Court members were so happy to have her here! We had a won-derful OV and our weather cooperated by being a little cooler during her visit. She flew off to Hawaii following her time with us so we got to see her there as well.

And speaking of Hawaii – what can I say? We had a great time!! We stayed in a beautiful hotel across the street from the ocean, wonderful places to shop and eat and close by and we got to be with our counterparts and old friends again! Life is good!

So, until we meet again, my thanks for all your help and support! Remember, I love you ALL!

My history of making airline reservations started many years ago. My first husband, Alan, and four of my five

children work or have worked for the airlines. I understand the need to check frequently for low cost flights so I

check every day for them. Starting in January, I will begin looking at prices and times for our trip to Florida for

Grand Council next year.

A big THANK YOU to all who helped with the Membership Tea. The day was successful and we should have 8 or 9 candidates for the October Ceremo-nial. We had a very good time at the tea and our new candidates are a lot of fun and we are looking forward to having them join LOS. Thank you to all the units for supplying the food and goodies for the tea. There will

be another tea after the holidays, so be looking for more ladies who are eligible to join. I have brochures and will have them with me at all times.

I want to thank Pat Zimmerman who has agreed to be my Aide. I am looking forward to working with Pat the next 4 years. Please keep Sandi Beneke in your prayers.

Hi All! The October meeting is our day time Cere-monial on Saturday, 10/13/2012. The Shrine is cook-ing up a delicious luncheon for us: Baked Potato Build Up (choose your toppings), mixed green salad, and dessert (the best part). The cost this month is just $10 and can be paid at the door. All checks should be made out to "Sphinx Court #65”.

Everyone has a reservation if you are on my per-manent list. Those of you who will not be attending will need to call me to cancel. Please call 623-873-7988 to cancel or make your reservation and leave a message if I'm not there. This is very important and I need to hear from you by Sunday, 10/07/2012.

I hope you will join us!

Our next meeting will be help on October 12th after we set up for the Ceremonial. Hope to see you all there. Set up time will be @ 5 PM.

The Official Visit of our High Priestess is Thursday, October 11. Dinner will be at 5:30 pm in the Red Fez Room and the meeting at 7:00, RSVP to Marsha Young. We will have a Halloween Theme and all Court members are welcome to attend. We always have a great time. That’s because we’re clowns (of course).

Our Christmas Party is scheduled for December 16th at the Masonic Lodge at 4th Avenue and Monroe. The Ladies of Queen Esther Chapter #22, Order of the Eastern Star, are again serving up a wonderful meal.

There will be “Clown Games” that will give the Rein-deer a run for their money and prizes. Social gathering and games will begin at 4:00 pm with dinner being served at 5:30. We are pleased to welcome the Patrol Unit who will join us in this fun night of fellowship and friendship. All Court members are welcome to join us. Please RSVP to Marsha Young.

Please keep Heather Pisarski, Debbie McKelvey dealing with health issues and Drina Fiebig who lost her brother on September 5th.

We had so much fun in Hawaii. Many thanks to Star for hosting an event for us at her beautiful house. The uniform for our October meeting and Ceremonial is the multi colored jacket, white shell, and black skirt. Remember to buy or sell your opportunity tickets on the Veggie Mix machine.

Greeters Unit Lady Iris Colbert, President

The next Greeters Meeting will be held on November 3, 2012. You will be notified by phone and in Court as to the location.

Our love to all members of our Court.

Sphinx Patrol Lady Linda DuBois, PHP, Captain

Mark your calendars! Sphinx Patrol and the Clowns will be joining forces for our Christmas Party. It will be December 16th, time TBD, at the Masonic Hall at 4th Avenue and Monroe. We had such a good time at our joint Installation, we decided to join forces again for the Holidays!

Our next Patrol meeting is on October 2nd. Come visit us – maybe join us – marching is really good exer-cise and we’re a lot of fun!

Stay well, happy, safe, and keep working for the kids!

It was so good to see everyone again. So glad sum-mer is on its way out and cooler weather is on the way.

There will be no meeting in October. See you on November 9th, Masonic Fellowship Center, 18810 N.

107th Ave. Our Meeting starts at 11:30 followed by a no-host lunch. Suggestions for our Holiday lunch will be discussed.

Good thoughts and well wishes to all.

PHP Club Lady Linda Curry, PHP, President

Please note a change to our November meeting and Office Visit date due a conflict with the Thanksgiving holiday. The meeting will be held on November 7 at 7:00 p.m. preceded by dinner in the Red Fez room and fol-lowed by dessert Hope to see you all there.

Well Ladies, the Rummage Sale time is getting closer and we need LOTS more items; clothes, toys, books, furniture, games, linens, appliances, kitchen items or anything else you may have to donate. I am sure if everyone looks around the house, there is something you no longer want or have place to store. Why not donate that to the Rummage Sale! Set up is Thursday November 1st and the sale is the 2nd and 3rd

at Iris Colbert’s house. I am hoping that someone who is knowledgeable about Social Media can assist with helping with promoting the sale. I will be handing out assignments at our next meeting on October 1st at

6:30pm, prior to the Director Staff meeting. There are some very important changes to talk about

concerning the future of the Sphinx Court Travel Fund at this October 1st meeting. These changes will affect each Unit and every member in each Unit, so please mark this important date on your calendar and plan to be there. We have also set the date for the Hobo Pic-nic in the Park. This will be on February 23rd at Still-man’s Railroad Park on the corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend road. More information to come as it gets closer to the date.

Sphinx Court Ways & Means Committee Lady Lou Ann Speas, Chairman

Hope you all had a very nice summer. Our first Ways and Means Project is in the books.

The Carnival was a fun event. Everyone that came seemed to have a blast! The Carnival can only get

bigger and better if continued. Thanks to all for your support and help.

The next project is a mystery dinner theater. More information to follow at a later date.
