Princess Happy Spring to everyone! Flowers are blooming and birds are singing. This

beauty takes my breath away, just as all you beautiful Ladies do. We are so lucky in so many ways. Take a moment to think about how fortunate we are, espe-cially thinking about how terrific it is knowing that we have each other.

The S.C.T.F. Night Out Card Party was so much fun. Everything from the entertainment, great food, prizes, silent auction, live auction and great competi-tion at the tables with screams and laughter was terri-fic. Thank you Lady Jane Sheldon and your team for another wonderful memory.

Our Officer installation on April 13th at 7 PM is coming up fast. I hope you will attend this special evening. So many Ladies work very hard to make this evening a success. Please come to support their efforts. If you would like to volunteer I know it would be welcomed.

I want to thank you for the support you have be-stowed upon me for the past 4 years. Thank you also for your confidence in electing me High Priestess for 2012-2013. I promise that I will represent you to the best of my ability that is possible. Together we are a Team, and as a Team we can build Sphinx Court like a Pyramid. MAJESTICALLY!

Much love and happiness to all.

Congratulations to Lady Janet and Officers for a

JOB WELL DONE!! From

The Past High Priestess Club

High Priestess We will have our spring Ceremonial on March 26, 2012 (our last meeting for the year of the Sassy Seahorses). Do come to welcome our

new candidates. They need to feel the support and warmth that is given in our court.

If you belong to a unit and haven’t been active for a while; OR if you don’t belong to a unit, be sure to evaluate why you haven’t done so. Our units remain the life blood of our court. They need talent, ideas and support. Come, be active, strengthen friendships and be an integral part of our court, our units. You can realize great joy when you join.

This will be my last contribution to Cactus Chatter for this year. It has been an extraordinary year for me. I want to thank you for the love, support, advice, and the encouragement that you have given to me. This year most certainly was a ‘team effort’ year. Without this assistance, we wouldn’t have accom-plished everything that we set out to do at the begin-ning of the year. I thank each and every one of you for all of your help, I deeply appreciate it.

Love & Hugs Mermaid Hugs and Dolphin Kisses,

Associate Princess What an awesome year this has been for me. The items I've sent to the hospitals from our court have been great and it has made me very proud to send all these

wonderful items for the children. When I total the value for this year, I hope you'll be as proud as I am of our court.

I sent three more boxes in February and I still have two more boxes with some adorable items ready to send to the hospitals. I'm sure I'll receive more items at the February and March meetings for the children at the hospitals. That will be my final shipment.

The station of Assoc. Princess is a learning experi-ence that is rewarding and children are very blessed to be patients at the Shrine hospitals, where they receive wonderful care and our ladies to keep them happy with all the wonderful items we've been send-ing them. Thank you for giving me this opportunity for working for the children.

Clowns Another year has slipped by. I know this because

the Clowns just had their election of officers and should have an installation on Tuesday April 17th. Check for a confirmed date as we would love to have you join us. Lady Marsha Young will stay as President and Lady Kay Akers will be the Vice President. Lady Marie Tressler will be Secretary and Lady Pam Wade Treasurer. It sounds less formidable if I say Marshmallow, Poppy, Lizzie, and Cookie, maybe that is why we like to be Clowns. It is an easier way of life, at least on the surface, but very detailed in the preparation.

Like anything in life worth doing, the preparation to be a clown is worth the effort. There are classes available to us here in town and away at “camp.” There are articles to read and other clowns to give input on everything “clowny.” To find your Clown personality can be daunting - it takes some self examination. It is a great growth experience and leads to hours of fun. Have you thought about being a Clown? Maybe you should. We still have openings in our Unit and you can never have too much fun or see too many smiles. Life is different with a big red nose.

Joyfully, Lady Pam Wade

Vice Pres.

Greeters At the February meeting, the Greeters Unit voted to

start meeting 4 times a year; April, September, No-vember, and February. We had the first reading of our new Rules and Regulations and will be voting on them at our March 10th meeting at Dillon’s Restau-rant. If approved, we will present them at the Court Stated Meeting on March 26, 2012.

Our next meeting will be March 10 and April 14, 2012. We will not start our quarterly meetings until fall, after the R & Rs are approved by Grand Council.

We will have our Un-Birthday Party in July. Also, this does not mean we will not get together in the other months. It just means we will only transact busi-ness quarterly.

Our April 14th meeting will be the Installation of Officers: President, Lady Iris Colbert; Vice President, Lady Nonnie Carter PHP; Secretary, Lady Sally Ol-son; and Treasurer, Lady Lillian Ryan. This will also be the Official Visit of our High Priestess.. Please RSVP to Lady Iris @ 480-990-1298 or Lady Nonnie @ 602-441-3166. Location for the Installation and OV will be announced later.

Lady Iris Colbert Pres.

Director Staff The Tribe had elections this past month. Lou Ann Speas was elected Chief; Ginny Fain, Assistant Chief; Pat Bandhauer PHP, Secretary; and Mary Lou Salyer PHP, Treasurer. The fund raiser on Saturday February 25th was such a fun time, way to go Jane. Don’t forget we have a Ceremonial March 26th, hope to see you all there.

Lady Lou Ann Speas, Praying Mantis Assistant Chief

Sphinx Court Travel Fund Committee First things first, I want to congratulate Lady Doro-

thy Stanfield for being the BIG WINNER in our fund-raiser on Feb. 25, 2012. Thanks to all the Units and Clubs and Ladies of Sphinx Court for their help and support. We had a good turn out and made approxi-mately $2500.00. Final figures will be given at our next Travel Fund Meeting on April 30, 2012, at 7pm at EI Zaribah. The reason for this is we still have a cou-ple bills to be paid, but do not have them yet. Every-one seemed to have a good time and what can you say about the entertainment, it was great. The food was fabulous, again thank you

Sphinx Court Ways & Means Committee I’d like to remind everyone that we still have those

beautiful Cook Books for sale at $15.00 each. Also, our last project for this year is the Teeth Whitening Opportunity for $3.00 each. This will be given away at our March 26th Court Meeting. Don’t you have a child, grandchild, relative or even yourself who would love to have whiter teeth? This makes a terrific gift for teen-agers. This package was donated and val-ued at $300.00 by Dr. Radcliffe, D.M.D. – our High Priestess, Lady Janet bought it and donated it to Sphinx Court in order to raise more funds for Ways and Means. Please consider it - it’s a great opportu-nity for a brighter smile.
