It has been an exciting year so far at Ocean Tides. Our annual reception was a great event, our young men enjoyed an incredible Christmas season thanks to the generosity of so many donors, and three young men were able to graduate from high school at the end of the first semester. We have been able to add some new vocational educational workshops thanks to funds in the Brother B and Jane G Vocational Education Fund, including a workshop on hair styling. Programs and activities continue to help our young men find hope and opportunity. I look forward to seeing you at the Hall of Fame Dinner event where we will close out our 40th Anniversary year. Your support allows great things to happen at Ocean Tides. Thank you. OCEAN TIDES NEWSThe Alumni at Annual ReceptionOctober 23, 2015One of the special features of Lasallian Residential Youth and Family Services work is that no mat-ter how they came to us, or how long ago they left, Ocean Tides will always be home for our students. We managed to get a couple of photos of our alumni attending the Annual Reception on October 23rd, conversing, recon-necting, and enjoying memories while looking through their yearbook.

Let Them Race Science Project

Who says science can’t be fun? Our students designed, built, and raced their own CO2 propelled cars using technology and wood working skills. These projects were fast!

A Merry Ocean Tides ChristmasAt Ocean Tides, many of our boys in the residential program do not get to go home for the Christmas holiday. So we bring the holiday to them!Ocean Tides staff and culinary students turned the dining hall into a fine dining experience, trimmed with Christmas decorations and linens, and prepared a delicious feast for all invited: Ocean Tides’ faculty and staff, Christian Brothers, family, friends, Lasallians from our local Rhode Island ministries (La Salle Academy, St. Raphael Academy, San Miguel School, Tides Family Services), and of course our boys!

Our Students Continue to SucceedAs our boys continue to grow and learn, they are re-warded with special trips and programs, including a recent visit to SkyZone Trampoline Park. Our boys are flying! A special congratulations to our newest graduate Nelson, who is no doubt flying to the moon and back. Plenty of hard work and dedication from him as well as Ocean Tides’ staff, have put Nelson on the path to future success.
