During 2013's August our best audience gainers
ranking has been more equally distributed than July.
In August's top ten we can find four athletes, four
teams and two competitions.
If we talk about sports, soccer is the clear winner, all
the profiles who have made the top ten are soccer
related. The first non soccer related account is
Lebron James (#12).

Soccer is clearly the sport with more athletes in the
ranking. The athlete who gained more followers
during August was Cristiano Ronaldo, with
1,374,702 new followers in his social network
profiles, which is roughly a 1.7 % increase over the
previous month.
Another big player during this month was Cesc
Fàbregas. The soccer player have had a 20.4 %
increase on his social media profiles, over August.

Soccer controls the ranking of teams who havegained more social followers during August.
Like past months Real Madrid (#1) and FC Barcelona(#2) lead the ranking of teams that gained morefollowers. They are also the teams with more socialfans in the world, and this is not likely to changeanytime soon.
Borussia Dortmund has grown a 11.09 %, but is stillfar from best (in terms of social media) europeansoccer teams.

Premier League is the competition with a bigger
increase over August. The English soccer league
gain 1,148,136 new followers. Seems like the new
season kick-off made well to his social media
presence.
Over competitions NBA is still the one with a deeper
audience across social media.

- NBA is still the biggestcompetition in Twitter.
