WHAT’S AN ATHLETIC TRAINER?
Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-
skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment, under the direction of or in
collaboration with a physician, in accordance with their education, training and the state's statutes, rules and regulations. As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion
and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
GOHS Athletic Trainers provide health-care for all GOHS
athletes including band, color
guard, drill team and cheer.
SPECIAL SERVICES
▪ Timely Physician Referral - Typically within 72 hour window ▪ Electrical Stimulation ▪ Ultrasound ▪ Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue
Mobilization ▪ Glass and Silicone Cupping* ▪ Blood Flow Restriction Therapy All services are to be rendered at Athletic Trainer’s discretion. Services that require parent permission are indicated by asterisk (*).

Monday – Friday: 6:30 am – 7:10 am
If your child is injured, they must
attend morning treatments. We will not remove students from class and/or practice

All doctor’s notes giving diagnoses, treatment parameters and activity restrictions MUST be
turned in to Athletic Trainers. This helps us follow treatment guidelines given by your physician.
