Academic Focus

• Instructional Programs and Services for All CTMS Students– 6 Department Chairs (Math, LA, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Electives) who lead PLCs in planning and coaching for

high level instruction– At least two content teachers per grade level for level preps (6 Math, 6 Science, 6 Social Studies, 6 ELA teachers) – Teacher Planning Process (PLCs) to plan high quality instruction– 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Team Leaders to lead organizational planning of grade level teaming for meeting and discussing student

individual needs with teachers, counselors, and administration – Campus Instructional Teacher for Academic Support– ECO (extended classroom opportunity) on Tuesdays and Thursdays; Saturday School 8-12pm for 2 Saturdays per month– Electives: Skills for Living, Intro to Spanish, Spanish, Professional Communications, Tech Apps, Teen Leadership, PE,

– SEAC unit for students qualifying for emotionally disturbed services; staffed with 1 teacher and 2 paraprofessionals who assist students throughout the day in all classes and/or during a crisis

– SOAR for students intellectually disabled; staffed with teacher and 2 paraprofessionals; classroom has functional spaces including addition of motor lab and kitchen, full restroom, and laundry

– Content Mastery Services for SpEd students who need deeper content specific instruction during any given period during the day; staffed every period with special education teacher or paraprofessionals

– 504 Services for students with disabilities and need special accommodations in order to equally access general education instruction; Coordinated by counselors

Social / Emotional Support

• Transition support for 6th and 8th grades– Incoming 6th Parent Night / Open House / Showcase– Pup Camp – Ambassador Camp– 8th Grade High School Tours– 8th Grade Academy Recruitment

• Grade level counseling support for academic planning, social-emotional support, and guidance

• Top Dog Awards for students with 85 or above average grades and 5 plus community service hours every marking period

• Bulldog PRIDE program - positive behavior support campus-wide weekly drawings

Social / Emotional Support (cont.)

• Counseling Support Student Referrals from teachers to counselors

• Clubs sponsored by every teacher for weekly meetings (currently over 40 clubs)

• Advisory (Trail Time) built in schedule daily for goal setting, planning, character education, digital citizenship

• Communities in Schools (CIS) groups that meet weekly or bi-weekly

• Student Council with teacher sponsor who holds meeting with council to coordinate campus events and student led projects

• National Junior Honor Society for students who hold 95 or above cumulative GPA who lead leadership projects at PV

• Teen Leadership class with curriculum designed for middle school with teachers staffed who have had Capturing Kids Hearts training

• Add Leader In Me to continue the success of 6th grade students leadership skills, language to bridge the transition to middle school

Cultural / Community Responsiveness

• Maintain strong PTSA partnership in hosting school events for students, teachers, and community

• Maintain Communities In Schools program that provides counseling groups and support to students and families

• Increase school participation (fine arts, cheer, clubs, organizations) in community events; Rhome Festival, Newark Cruisin’ Days

• Community Read-In inviting whole community into campus/district literacy efforts

• Literacy Night to include whole community in literacy efforts

• Continue partnership with community churches who support Chisholm by donating school supplies, sending youth pastors to visit students during lunch
