Mike’s Corner - a word from our club President

First off I want to thank all the pilots and non-pilots that helped make our 2020 Pro Bro a success. There will be a more complete financial report at our August meeting. In short we had three more signed in pilots than

we had in 2019. The total profit for this year was $865.23 which put us about $115.00 over 2019. Of course it was hot, but in spite of the heat everyone seemed to have a good time. Many thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the 2020 Pro Bro happen.

By the time you are reading this we will have only one week till The National Model Aviation Day happens on August 15th. Be getting together donations for the silent auction. This is a great opportunity to pass on any unwanted planes or those you no longer fly and give them a new home and maybe new life. We will be asking for volunteers to help out at the event. For instance a couple guys to watch over the static display of our aircraft, perhaps someone to watch over the silent auction, a couple folks to help out with lunch, collecting donations, cook, chefs helper, someone to help out at check in and collect $10.00 landing fee. As you know all proceeds will be going to support the Senergy House here in KC. Corky the Senergy House representative will be in attendance, so stop by and give her a howdy!

Our next meeting will be on August 13th at 7:00pm at our flying field. Bring a chair so we can social distance. See you at the field or at the August meeting.

June 11th, 2020 Meeting

Meeting called to order by Mike Coyne at 7pm. There were no newsletter problems. The minutes were accepted by Randy Allman and Dwayne Thomas

Financial Report: Was read by Mike Coyne, Walter could not attend. The club has $968.71 in the account.

Old Business: Mike asked all members to lock the lock back to chain when entering the field so the lock does not come up missing.

The sale of Ron’s airplanes stuff netted $3500.00 over 2 weekends. There will be a garage/driveway sale, no date is scheduled at this time.

Mike Coyne had asked if anyone had bought a LiL Roughneck plane at a silent auction 2 yr back for Jim Franklin.

New Business: Pro Bro July 17-18 25.00 landing fee, lunch & dinner Saturday. Mike encouraged everyone to sign in to help the club.

Thanks go out to Mike & Barbara for cleaning the tables. Todd for going to get pizza and Randy Allman for picking up 6ft sandwich at Walmart. Thanks to Danny Williamson and Randy &Steve for cooking lunch on Saturday.

Model Aviation Day August 15 10.00 landing fee. All donations will go to Synergy House. It is a sanction event. A 5.00 donation for lunch.

Combat is at the Dambusters field on Friday night August 10.

Plow Award: Sorry, Mike did not have a pic of our latest plow award recipient holding the coveted plow award. In any case here is Dave Carmichael the winner of the crash award. Dave says he was flying a twin motor plane he obtained from Aron's sale and one motor quit rendering him to land in a tree behind the Pitts. I will get your pic with the award at the August meeting.

Safety:: Randy said to stay hydrated during Pro Bro weekend.

Next Club event will be our monthly meeting on August 13th, 7:00 p.m. at the Knights Field. There is a list of what is in the Knights “Toy Box” under the Members only page. Members have access to the “Toy Box” at club evenings, events and occasionally at the field. Also, at Sam's Service Center, 8219 N. Oak Trafficway,. Open 7:30- 18:00.

For members who want their picture in the Knights picture directory be sure and send Steve a clear digital picture of yourself

and by what name you want to be known. He could also take one of you at the field on a club evening. These will only appear on the Members only section. The directory is already up! Send to rcflying@resourcelinks.org.
