Renamed Degrees: The Four Degrees in the Knights of Columbus have recently been renamed. They are now

addressed:

1st. Degree is now the "Admission Degree" Principles are that of Charity

2nd. Degree is now the "Formation Degree" Principles are that of Unity

3rd. Degree is now the "Knighthood Degree" Principles are that of Fraternity

4th. Degree remains the "Patriotic Degree" Principles are that of Patriotism

The Jewels are now called the "Medals of Office"

Need a Ride Program: We have mentioned this before but would like to re-iterate that rides to & from planning & business

meetings are available to those who cannot or do not wish to drive at night. Please bring it up at a meeting (if you can make it) or

drop me an email to know of your request and we will find a brother knight to help out.

Passwords: It has been asked of us a few times for the Wi-Fi passwords for different areas of St. Hubert church & School. What I

have found out is the basement of the Church password is "GoHubertGo!" and the Dorothy Day room is "10917061D2"

SeptemberFest Water Booth: Monday, September 5th. is the date for the Knights of Columbus Water Booth at the

Schaumburg September Fest. You can still sign up "Online" on our website to help out or just show up. Pete Skinder and Dick

Lambke's Water and Gatorade selling techniques will help make this event the most fun you could ever have there while raising

much needed money to help support all our different charities and worthy causes. We have a good chance of making this a

Profitable event. Please Help out your Council 6964!

Annual Fall Blood Drive: Sunday, November 13, 2016, from 8:00 AM to 2 PM.

St Hubert Church is having their annual Fall Blood Drive in the lower level of the church. As the time draws near Vince will have a sign-up sheet at our meetings.

The "Tootsie Roll" ID Drive (Sept. 16th. - 18th.) is our Largest Fundraiser of the Year. Store Fronts and Premium Intersections are still available to work. Signup sheets are available "Online" or at any of our next two

meetings for both the Phone-A-Thon and the I.D. Drive itself.

The location for the September 6, 2016 Phone-A-Thon has been changed to St. Hubert Church in at 6:30 PM. until 9:30 PM in the

"Club Room" of the parish ministry center. Make sure you bring your cell phones fully charged up.

You do not have to be a Knight to help out. Many of the Knight's wives, children and close friends are welcome to help with the I.D.

Drive itself. It is a unique experience meeting with all the different people driving by or walking into stores that donate to our cause

that day. Remember, this is our largest fundraiser of the year, help make it a big success again.

and therefore any donation to and endorsed by the council is not eligible for an IRS deduction! It could be dis-allowed during an IRS audit which could cost the donor penalties and interest. Include the amount of the check in the Gross Receipts on line 1, but attach the check to your report and send to the State Council for endorsement. Don’t forget to endorse the checks if payable to the council, to the Illinois State Council K of C Charities Inc – ID Fund

A Dine to Donate: is coming up at "Moretti's" on Wednesday, September 7th. form 10 AM until 10 PM. Please

bring this flyer with you and mention it to your server or carry out people.

Both the Moretti's & the Chili's fundraisers will bring in 15% of your bill (excluding alcohol) back to our Council .

In October, on the 25th., we will have another "Dine to Donate" at "Pilot Pete's". You don't want to miss that one. More

information to come as it becomes available.

Chili's Dine to Donate: fundraiser will be coming up on September 15th. and lasting until November 30th. Once again,

bring this flyer with you and give it to your server.

NEW WEBSITE UKnight: The new website is up and running. You can go to KofcKnights.org and enter council# 6964 to

check it out. You may even be able to just go to our old website and automatically be transferred over. On the very first page (or

Home page) you will see a slideshow with pictures from last year's ID Drive. The slideshow will change all through the year hopefully

reflecting our latest events. There are many other items and events listed on that page alone. You should be able to see current and

future events there, our officers pictures, the "Knight of the month", the current Knightlines Newsletter and much more. On the left

side of this home page there are a number of items you can click on. Not all of them have been addressed yet, but they will be as we

have about 5 or 6 knights working on their specific sections as we speak. Try the "Members Only" button. Once you do, it will take

you to a section that is for registered knights only. To access it, you will need your membership ID# that is on your white

membership card and your digitally entered birthday. Once in, if you click on the "council members list" you will see a current listing

of every member in our council. You will also notice that many of the names have pictures associated with them. These pictures are

from about the last three years or so of Knightlines stories. If you see your name but no picture and would like one listed, then feel

free to send one to me (your Deputy Grand Knight) and I will have it placed in there ASAP. If you don't like the picture there, let me

know or send me another one to use. This website is going to have everything we need and will answer all your questions as long as

it's up to date. Feel free to browse around, you can't hurt it. Ask questions and we'll get you answers. I like it and I think you will too.

SEMINARIAN RAFFLE: Ticket Books are now available from our Chancellor, SK Pete Munnich. Tickets are $15.00 a book.

Please help Pete and our Council with this worthy cause to support local seminarians with their tuition costs. Pete will have raffle

books available at all meetings.

2016 Steak Fry: The Knights of the Sword will Hold their annual "Steak Fry" on Saturday, September 10th.

The event will take place at St. Hubert this year, in the back by the school where we had the picnic. Cooking the steaks will be by our

own SK Pete Munnich & SK Pete Skinder who were highly praised for their efforts last year. The Knights of the Sword cordially invite

you to their annual Steak Fry. All 4th degree Knights and their spouses, widows of 4th degree members and any prospective 4th

degree members are welcome to attend. There will be appetizers at 6:00 PM with dinner to follow at 7:00 PM. The menu includes

salad, choice of steak or chicken, baked potato, sweet corn and dessert for $15.00. There will be sign-up sheets at the next meeting

and online.

Sharing Picnic at St. Hubert: Our Council Knights once again helped out at the St. Hubert Parish Sharing Picnic in force.

The Picnic was held on Saturday, August 13th. once again, on a very hot afternoon. The Knights helped to set up and take down

tents, move & set up tables & chairs, cook the hot dogs & hamburgers and even volunteer for the dunk tank.

Schaumburg Township Day: Join our Township to celebrate Township Day on Wednesday September 21st. from 1 PM

until 6 PM! Let's support our Township that generously gave us the space we needed to hold our meetings!

The Township is asking our Council's help by attending their event not en masse but as a family outing (members should wear their blue polo shirts). We should remember that the Schaumburg Township helped our Council by giving us a meeting venue. So now let's help them. Women at the Well: CHS is once again holding the very popular "Women at the Well" series starting on Tuesday,

September 20, 2016 at 6:45 P.M. at Church of the Holy Spirit. Knights are requested to help serve food at this event. There should be
