The programme offers support to eligible High Performance Technology (HPT) businesses in the form of grants of up to £1 million.

An enviable regional infrastructure has dedicated terminals for both rail – Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal – and air freight including Heathrow, London, Luton, Birmingham and Nottingham East Midlands Airport - the UK’s largest pure air freight terminal. The Food & Drink sector in Northamptonshire is a significant employer with some 46,000 jobs supported by prospering businesses including Weetabix, Carlsberg UK, Whitworths, British Pepper and Spice and Alpro. The sector is worth £1.5 billion to the Northamptonshire economy.

FOOD& DRINK

The county is responsible for 10% of the UK’s total wheat storage, milling and processing capacity. It is also home to more than twice the national average number of food and drink manufacturers many of which produce high end, award-winning, specialist products for international audiences.
