NTREIS Users Committee Auction Task Force

Meeting Minutes – December 12, 2018

The Users Group Auction Task Force met on Wed., December 12, 2018 at 10

a.m. In attendance were: Brent Graves, Cathy Faulkner, Derek Westley, Joe

McGrath, Pam Rendall-Bass and Cindy Miller.

The group reviewed the motion (Allow the inclusion of properties subject to

auction in the MLS) that came before the Users Committee on November 13,

2018. The motion was tabled and this task force was created.

There was much discussion on the best way to handle auction listings in the

MLS and it was noted that any motion approved by the Users Group regarding

same would need to go before the Rules Task Force for review with respect to

showing, etc.

It was decided that there would be no separate property type for these

properties and RESO standards for fields would be used where applicable.

The task force made the following recommendation which will be presented at

the next Users Committee meeting on January 8, 2019:

1. A new required Y/N field called “Auction” will be added to the system.

2. If a “Y” is entered in the new field, then the option for a range price will

be required. If a “N” is entered, then the user will enter the list price as

usual.

3. The high end of the range pricing is what will be used on the displays as

the list price followed by an “AUC” which will tell users the list price is

part of a range.

4. When searching by list price, these properties will be part of the results if

the list price criteria falls anywhere within the range price spectrum.
