Esculturalguild.com (816) 630-6801 Winter 2020 Inspiring the Arts Cultural Guild e Excelsior Spngs Area Nightmare at the Elms The new Autumn Event to be sponsored by the Cultural Guild that first breathed life as “Monster Ball” grew into a joint venture with the Elms Hotel & Spa. With its new identity, “Nightmare at the Elms” was held on October 25th. There were 78 people in attendance, many of which were from out of state and all enjoyed the food, drink, games, and music to the fullest. Music for listening and dancing was provided by local DJ, Zac Wilkins. The crowd provided a phenomenal variety of clever costumes and all came prepared make the most of the evening. Included in the evening activities were dancing, games, a free photo booth, and a Paranormal Tour by the Elms.

The event raised over $586 for the Cultural Guild Scholarship Fund going to area seniors pursuing careers in the arts.Based on party-goers comments and the overall success of the event, both the Cultural Guild and the Elms are looking forward to a bigger and better “Nightmare” next year.

Front Porch JamboreeThe Cultural Guild is partnering with Paradise Playhouse to put on a new event on May 1st during Gatsby Days.The dinner (as well as sound and lighting) will be handled by John’s crew at the Playhouse.The Guild will put together a program of country music, poetry, storytelling, and possibly dance.More information will be forthcoming at the January meeting.
