NIC Industry Tour

Outreach Campaign

One of the core aspects of the NIC Incubation program is our stress on experiential learning. We bridge the gap by taking our incubated start-ups within the industry so that they may interact with Industry Leaders. The industry tour included an insightful and interactive visit to 10 start-ups located within the city. The incentive of this visit was to allow our start-ups the exposure needed to overcome challenges by listening to the stories of those who started their journeys in a similar manner.

To incubate the best of the best from the entrepreneurial world, the team at NIC Lahore put belief to practice and visited various institutes to encourage them to apply for incubation within the facility. The sessions were held in the major universities: FAST Lahore, UoL, UCP, UET Fsb, FCCU, PUCIT, UMT, UET Lahore, UET KSK, UoA Faisalabad, PU, UoG, UVAS and Arid Agriculture university Rwp. Participants were given the opportunity to come up with ideas on the go and thus encouraged to take them to the next level through NIC.

Asif Raza MirOne of the most prominent sessions out of the 27 notable ones was with the reputable Asif Raza Mir. He shared his experiences as an entrepreneur and advised the incubated startups to never avoid or fear failure. Deliberating over his own journey and encounter with failure he recalled challenges of endeavoring in the entrepreneurial world. He stressed on the importance of taking risks as a startup and approaching new ideas head on.

Mir voiced his understanding of working in both Pakistan and Canada and claimed that despite the struggle and success; it was his love for his country that brought him back. He urged the startups to benefit from the raw Pakistani market and take it to new heights of success. Asif Raza Mir also expressed his admiration for the diversity of startups incubated at NIC and wished them the very best for their respective futures.

Post an insightful and interactive session, Mir said; “Don’t be afraid of failures but don’t get greedy either. Keep the bigger picture in mind and pursue your dreams with utmost dedication. There is no stagnancy on the road of success; pursuing a dream means being on a rocky ride with overwhelming highs and disturbing lows. Throughout it all; keep the bigger picture in mind and go for it. Everything else follows.”

AgriMart is a one window platform that is easily accessible to the agri community and can be used for complete agri-ecosystem and sustainable agriculture. The start-up provides financial inclusion of low income farmers by creating a marketplace that contributes to the agriculture economy. This allows local farmers that often sacrifice their profits to increase the transparency in their sales. It also insures them and their products giving them financial and job security. Through the use of the platform provided by this startup, the local farmers and buyers become eligible for product insurance and services for practical purposes.
