The Art for Autism charity exhibition, an art installation made up of works which have been donated generously

by Far North Queensland based Indigenous artists. All sales/proceeds of donated works will be donated directly

to the event's beneficiary, Autism Queensland. Autism Spectrum Disorder and other emotional and behavioural

disorders (EBDs) affect nearly every person in the community, yet are largely misunderstood. As such, the

event hopes to raise funds to benefit Autism Queensland and to also raise the community's awareness and under-

standing of Autism and other EBDs, as well as highlighting the work that Autism Queensland do within Queen-

sland and in particular the Cairns region.

The event will be held on the 16th of August, at 06:00pm at Salt House Restaurant & Bar (Marina Point, 6/2

Pierpoint Rd, Cairns, QLD 4870). Please come and celebrate the rich diversity of traditional and contemporary

Far North Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, while at the same time enjoying one of Cairns'

most prestigious water-front dining venues and supporting a great charitable organisation.

I AM MAN is an exhibition showcasing emerging

and established artists sharing the common story of being Male in 21st Century Australia. Cell Art Space & The Pop Up Collective presents: "I am Man" the Exhibition coming in November 2013 We are currently seeking artists who would like to take part in this exhibition. Please visit the Exhibition Website where you will find further details and the en-try form. It can be found at the link below.

Concept: Every male in Australia faces his own unique pressures to conform to ingrained Australian gender cul-ture. Using art, we aim to explore the perspective of men from many different backgrounds on what it is like for them to be male in the 21st Century.

With this common ground we will produce a collection of

art that appeals to all tastes and in light of International

Men's Day, provides a chance for dialogue to begin on the

issues that we each face.

We have the space booked and now just need the art-

ists and their art to fill it. Help spread the word and

share this email with your friends so that we can put

together a great exhibition.

About Flying Arts

Flying Arts is an arts and cultural development organisation which has been delivering visual arts projects and

services to regional and remote Queensland for over 40 years. Conceived in 1971 as a cultural counterpart to

the Flying Doctor Service the Association has played a significant role in inspiring artists and communities and

helping to overcome the impacts of regional isolation and remote living. Flying Arts has left a rich legacy in

Queensland communities and over the years many program participants have gone on to become celebrated

artists, teachers and/or community cultural leaders. Today, having taken up the role left by the former

Queenland Artworkers Alliance - Flying Arts now has a Queensland wide brief to promote the values of visual

arts appreciation and practice.

Our mission is to promote the appreciation, practice and professional development of the visual and media arts

as a lifetime interest or career, especially to those with limited access.

Our services include workshops, residencies, exhibitions, projects, events, resources, business and project con-

sulting and a raft of online activities. We are a not for profit association with core funding provided through

Arts Queensland. Our services are supported by program revenue, corporate partnerships and philanthropy. We

have Donor Gift Recipient (DGR) and Tax Charity Concession (TCC) status.

We are committed to providing opportunities for aspiring, emerging and practicing artists to explore and

achieve their creative and career potential.
