    Important Note:Installation may require special tools like saw, cutting machine, screw driver etc.Make sure safety protection method is provided.

    Only qualified personnel is allowed.National safety regulations will overrideinstallation standards.

    All Nexans installations shall be completed in accordance with (IAW) the relevantstandards. Different countries have different applicable standards. Some regionsuse a hybrid of them so depending on your location the relevant standards shallbe followed. It is important to always check for the latest versions of standards as

    they are constantly being updated.

    Fiber Pathway system:A Cable pathway is designed to hold data communication cables in buildings anddatacenters. The increasing data transfer between workstations,telecommunication rooms and data centers requires high-bandwidth. Being readyto run new applications more than a decade out requires a scalable, flexible andfuture proof system, datacenter now rely on fiber to connect between eachpatching area as backbone. A Fiber pathway system is specially designed toprotect fiber optic from physical. It also provides a versatile, scalable pathway thatreduces the costs associated with maintaining existing network operations andimplementing new services.

    Nexans provides Fibre Trunking System to secure your valuable data transmission.Fibre Trunking System allows people to modify and mantenance during datatransmission. No need to worry about future growth, a wide range of fittings canmet any consequence.

    Before installation:

    It is important that the correct pathway solution be installed in order to meetboth the requirements of the environment into which it is being installed and thecabling products being installed within the solution.

    EN 50174-2

    EN 50600-2-4

    ANSI/TIA-569-B-2008

    Where there is a requirement to keep other cable types away from data cablesthe separation must be such that it cannot be inadvertently changed. Forexample both the data cables should be held together with velcro and powershould be tie wrapped in place to maintain the separation distances required.

    Pathways

    Where the pathway system provides continuous support, the cables mustnot be stacked more than 150mm.This is to prevent crush damage to the cablesat the bottom. EN50174-2 4.4 refers.

    Use the Nexans installation software toolkit to calculate the size of containmentyou need, this is available at http://www.nexans.co.uk/eservice/UK-en_GB/navigateproduct_540160551/LAN_Calculation_Toolkit.html

    Make sure the pathway systems have smooth surfaces and also be free of burrs,sharp edges or projections that can damage cable insulation and be free of

    pressure points that may degrade the transmission performance of the installedsystem.

    Pathways made from tray-work shall be positioned to provide a minimumclearance of 25 mm from the fixing surface and to provide as much workingspace as possible above the tray (minimum 150mm) to enable access duringinstallation and accommodate the maximum stacking height of cables.

    Cable Management on Tray/Basket

    EN 50174-2:2009 in section 5.3.5 details the requirements

    Cable installation, installation of cables shall be in accordance with theinstructions supplied by their manufacturers/suppliers.

    Installation of cable shall be undertaken according to the installationschedule.

    When installing cables, cords or jumpers appropriate techniques shallbe applied in order to:

    eliminate cable stress caused by: - tension in suspended cable runs; -tightly pinched cable bundles; - ensuring that minimum bend radii are asspecified by the cable manufacturer, supplier or in accordance with therelevant product standard (rollers or other devices shall be used to avoiddamage);

    Ensure that the tensile load applied to the cables and cable bundles asspecified by the cable manufacturer, supplier or are in accordance withthe relevant product standards. Unless otherwise stated in the suppliers/manufacturers specification, the maximum tensile load applied to abundle shall be that specified for a single cable;

    prevent pressure marks (e.g. through improper fastening or crossovers)on the cable sheath or the cable elements;

    Installation of supporting bracket

    A wide range of mounting hardware is provided to ensure the fiber guider couldbe mounted under any circumstance in data centers and IT rooms.

    Attached to Cable Ladder or upper ceiling or Auxiliary Framing Bar is the mostcommon way for mounting:

    Trapeze support:

    The trapeze supporting bracket is used to attach 120/240 channel to ceilingfrom above. It is a straight bracket with 2 x M 20 threaded rod and fasteners toenable fitting of the main channel mounting bracket from overhead ceiling inyour data centers.
