While it is agreed that change is sometimes difficult, in this case it is of a high priority and a necessity for a number of reasons; cost being one, however more importantly to ensure we are meeting our social responsibilities in regards to waste management and recycling. I request that everyone commit to this as otherwise it will not be successful. You can expect more information about this in the future. Please get involved in saving our planet. The 30th of July is a compulsory training day for all staff at Barton. The following is on the agenda

Barton Private will be open for 10 years this October. We have come a long way from our first operating list in October 2008 where Dr Sim Hom Tam did the honors by doing the first surgical list ever at Barton Private.

Since then the hospital has tripled in size. We have three times the amount of staff then we did 10 years ago, and we cover a wide range of specialties. We have all the latest equipment and have established ourselves in Canberra as a competitive, premier 5 star private hospital.

We are now constantly striving to keep abreast of all the latest technologies and surgical techniques. We are always looking at ways to improve our processes and our customer service. We want to be a well-known hospital that is still operational for future years to come.

6 Compliments from patients:‘Sarah and Kerry just a little thank you. You were total professionals, but more than that you were compassionate and caring. Yesterday you treated me with respect and dignity despite my obviously distressed state. I cannot express my appreciation enough for the genuine care you gave’‘Wonderful care, very impressed. Think all the staff must be handpicked because everyone is just so wonderful. Thank you to everyone.’‘Thank you all so very much for your love, kindness and above all your care. Especially you Danielle you stayed with me until my room was available.’‘The attitude of the receptionist, admission staff, theatre staff and recovery staff were all much higher than I had anticipated and it says a lot to the overall ethos of the hospital. If the staff seem happy in their work, it generally means that things are being done right. As I said. I do not "hope to see you again", but if I do have to go to hospital in the future, I hope it is to Barton Private where everyone seems totally happy in their work.’‘I had an operation there today and I would like to thank all the staff on doing such a wonderful job. When I arrived Camille completed my pre op check, I was very nervous and she helped calm me by her kindness and I felt she treated me as a person not just another name and number on a list. ‘‘All staff had a high standard and attention to detail they all seemed to love working there which shows when they are treating patients. You should be proud to have a team of staff that are so kind, caring and committed.’
