Prayer for the end of the School Year

We praise and thank you God for the gift of this school

year.

It has been a time filled with grace and blessings,

With challenges and opportunities, joys and sorrows.

Give us the rest and refreshment we need this summer.

Let our efforts of this past year bear fruit.

Bring all of our plans to a joyful conclusion,

And bless us, according to your will.

Help us return to school with a new spirit and a new energy.

Amen.

Stem Club

For the final few weeks of term, STEM Club have

moved away from our anatomy work and into

astronomy based areas. Discoveries in recent years by

probes that have visited comets have revealed much

more clearly the make-up of the solar system’s

‘dirty snowballs’. So using some guidance from

ESA, we made our own model comets by mixing

together in appropriate portions, ammonia, soil,

water, a few organics, and dry ice. This resulted in

a number of groups successfully producing a

‘comet’ with vapour trails emerging from it.

For our last STEM Club of the school year, we went

back to one of the popular activities from 2017-18,

that is making and flying model rockets. Having done

some quick assembly work, we went out to the fields

to do three successful launches of the rockets that

had been made. These provided some nice souvenirs

for students to take home of the work they had done

over the past year.

Mr G Tomlin, Science Department

Sports Assembly

Congratulations to all the

students who won awards at

Sports Assembly on

Thursday morning.

The awards were presented

for extra curricular activities

or events at Sports Day
