Learning Diaries This week we have introduced a learning diary for each of the students. The Grade Prep and One students have to choose from faces to represent how hard they have worked in each of the subject and how they felt in the yard at recess and lunch. The Grade 2-6 students also use the faces to rate their work but also have a space to comment on what they have learnt and what they need to work on. In addition to commenting on their work and the playground, the Grade 2-6s also have a section if they wish to tell the teachers something. Some of our students find it hard to share what they are thinking – this is one way for them to get the message across without the initial face to face conversation. Spelling Homework Spelling groups recommenced today with new homework being sent home. A reminder this is due back in on Mondays. Anne Our staffroom and school is a little quieter at the moment; Annes husband has been in Melbourne undergoing several procedures. As Anne has been by his side she has been unable to work with our school. Once Chris is on the mend, Anne will resume her role at our school. Anne is missing us as much as we are missing her. School Hats It is that time of the year again where students are required to wear hats when they are outside. If your child is needing to purchase a new school hat, please come and see Patrice or myself or send some money in. The bucket hat is $5 and the large brim on is $10. Students who dont have a school hat to wear are required to play in the undercover area. ........................

Welcome back to Term 4. I hope you have enjoyed some time at home with your children. They all seem very excited to be back to share their holiday news with their friends.

Anne Our staffroom and school is a little quieter at the moment; Anne’s husband has been in Melbourne undergoing several procedures.

Students who don’t have a school hat to wear are required to play in the undercover area.

Melbourne Zoo Trip The whole school zoo trip has been booked for the 16th of December. This is an optional excursion for the students to attend however there will be no school run on the day for those that don’t attend. Once I hear back from Vline I will let you know the cost of the excursion. Parents are more than welcome to attend however; You must have a Working with Children’s Check (see Patrice for information about this or the Post

Office) There will be a charge for parents to attend.

Name you Uniform We have had many uniforms especially jumpers that the child’s name has faded or is not legible. Please take the time when folding your child's cloths to make sure we would be able to read their name on their uniforms. It is that time of year where a jumper may be required in the morning but then as the day warms up they get taken off. If there is a name we will return the item of clothing to your child.

Uniforms Reminder that we have our used uniform for sale at school. Come in and have a browse through the many items available. If your child has outgrown their current uniform you may wish to consider donating it to the used uniform stall.

Congratulations

We have some very talented

children in our school.

Thanks to the Morley family for arranging some dirt for our garden.

At the end of last term the children planted some Sweet William flowers in the new garden

bed and shortly we will be planting Giant Sunflowers in this bed.

In our vegie garden we currently have beetroot, peas, spinach and potatoes growing well.
