Newsletter February 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
WOW! It’s been a fun filled month, especially this past week.
We celebrated Catholic Schools Week by showing off how Holy Redeemer embodies the theme of Learn, Serve,
Lead, Succeed. We kicked off our week by sharing in the sacred mass with our parish community. Our students
lead the Sunday mass, and our children’s choir performed the music. Thank you to Mrs. Murphy, the Liturgy
Club, Mrs. Balducci and Mrs. Crawford, and the Children’s Choir!
Throughout the week, we recognized the many members of Holy Redeemer that make our school and parish amaz-
ing.
We celebrated our school by hosting 2 well-attended and busy open houses.
Our students were recognized for their hard work with a variety of treats and activities.
We celebrated our parish with mass and a reception for our ministries.
We recognized our parents by sharing in coffee and pastries during morning drop off.
We celebrated our teachers for giving of their gifts and talents to help students grow spiritually and
academically.
It was a very special week that culminated in our Awards Assembly. I would like to wish a special thank you to
Mrs. Alaimo and her team for making this a memorable week.
We look forward to a busy second semester!
Blessings,
Mrs. Katrina Fernandez

St. Ann’s Donations During Catholic Schools Week, we celebrated our community by organizing a school-wide St. Ann’s charity donation. This year, St. Ann’s Children, Youth and Families Center re-ceived a large donation from our Holy Redeemer School families and staff! Our com-
munity was very generous in donating diapers, wipes, formula, and hygiene products for the many babies and children in need at the Center.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
January 26-31, we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. We had a busy,
fun-filled week of Open Houses, celebrating our Parish, Students, Par-
ents and Teachers.
On Parent Appreciation Day, HRS parents and fam-
ilies were able to enjoy a delicious hot cup of Vigi-
lante coffee on a chilly morning! We are so lucky to
have such a strong and vibrant HRS community. A
special thanks to Vigilante for donating the coffee!
On Wednesday, we celebrated our
Parish Ministries by hosting an appreciation breakfast.
We were very happy that so many parish ministry mem-
bers joined us for this special meal. A huge thank you to
Mrs. Alaimo for organizing the event
and for making/providing the food!
We also held the Spelling Bee later that afternoon.
Audrey Badrak won 1st Place and Kashmere Zellner
came in 2nd Place! Audrey will go on to the county
spelling bee next month. We are so proud of them!
On Student Appreciation Day, the students
had a great time at our 2nd Annual Math
Bee!! The students also received special
treats from their teachers, no homework,
dressed out of uniform, and enjoyed a free ice
cream at lunch!
On Teacher Appreciation Day, the teachers and staff began their day
with a delicious breakfast provided by the
Home School Association and Mr. & Mrs.
Cantwell. The HSA also gave all of the
teachers and staff awesome gifts of their
choice! We are so grateful to have Mrs. Li-
sa Smith, HSA President, and Mrs. Mela-
nie Cantwell, HSA Vice-President, as our HSA leaders!
