From the Principal
Last week’s Athletics Carnival was a good example of our school’s values and
expectations and of the generous support the school receives from parents. It
was rewarding to see students decked out in their faction colours, striving to do
their best, being considerate of their peers and behaving responsibly. Thank you
to the many parents who helped with setting up, judging and time keeping and
packing up, we could not run the carnival without your support. Thank you also
to the many parents, grandparents and friends who were there to encourage
their children, creating a positive competitive atmosphere. Thank you Natalie
Kelsall for her work preparing students for the carnival and for teaching primary
physical education classes this term, Janet Gowland will take over from Natalie
in Term 4.
Parents of children who turn 4 years old on and before 30 June 2018 are asked
to enrol their students in Kindergarten for 2018 if they have not done so already
and are invited to attend Come and Play sessions next term.
To assist with planning and to avoid late changes to classes, parents are asked to
inform the school if their children will not be attending in 2018.
Early next term the school will be distributing the National School Survey to
seek feedback from parents on the performance and operation of the school.
The School Council has included additional questions seeking feedback on the
school’s communication with parents and the provision of homework. A high
response rate to the survey will assist with the school’s review and planning for
2018.
