Welcome Back to Worship
Moving forward with phase
2 The pandemic is real. There are
still more questions than answers
when it comes to the COVID-19
virus. We know this virus will
probably be affecting life for the
next year or so, and we are far from discovering what the new “normal” will
be.
The church council decided to prepare for Phase 2 of our plan to begin the
first of July. We are fully aware that every person/family is at a different
emotional place with this pandemic. We will continue to provide online and
radio services for those who remain most comfortable in isolation.
Phase 2 Highlights for Worship (beginning July 5th): Masks will be optional
Holy Communion will only be offered July 5th.
Physical Distancing will remain.
We will remain seated during worship.
We will have more singing.
Nursery and Kid’s Praise will be offered (9:15 and 10:45).
Welcome Center will offer Coffee and bottled water (no donuts)
We will not pass offering plates.

Note from Intern Hi, I am Charlie Frekot and I will be the intern
for the next year! I am from Columbia, Maryland,
which is in between Baltimore and DC. I com-
pleted my undergraduate studies at Susquehanna
University which is an ELCA college. I was able
to take a two-week Interfaith focused trip to Jeru-
salem, Bethlehem, and Tel Aviv. I spent five sum-
mers working at Mar-Lu-Ridge which is an Out-
door Ministry site in Maryland. It was a big part
of my faith journey, and I am always happy to talk
about Outdoor Ministry! I have two sisters: one is
a few years older and a teacher, and the other is
my twin who is currently studying in South Africa for her Masters. I am a pretty big
sports fan, and follow basketball and football most closely. I played football in high
school and was blessed to have coaches that understood when I had church commit-
ments that were during the preseason and some weekend practices. Recently I have
been getting into board games and have really enjoyed learning new games. I am very
excited and looking forward to serving with the communities of St. John, Celina and
St Paul, North Star. See you all in July!

“So when each separate part works as it should, the whole body grows and
builds itself up through love.” Ephesians 4:16
We are in need of volunteers!!! Currently we are in need of volunteers for VBS,
Kid’s Praise, and Nursery. Without the help and dedication of our church mem-

A STITCH IN TIME - SAVES NINE
Hmmmmm - I can't remember -
Which Bible verse is that?
Is it one of the 10 Commandments?
It seems to be a word of caution.
An instruction, like wisdom.
THOU SHALL NOT MESS AROUND,
FORGETTING TO STITCH.
Dear Sewing Circle Friends,
I have missed you terribly.
Surely the sewing room feels lonely.
And even "sew"
I know
There are those of us
Who have not missed a stitch.
Yours until we are gathered together,
Wrapped in quilts
And in Jesus' arms.
Marilyn

Pub Theology
Pub Theology is an opportunity to come together for conversations, which explore life,
faith, and morality over a drink of your choice. Bring your curiosity and questions! Meet
people of varying faith traditions, philosophies, and life experiences.
Where: Brew Nation 110 S. Main St., Celina, Ohio
When: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays at 7pm
July 1st and 15th
Thank you for all the supplies you donated to help the Wernle residents throughout the
winter. Wernle is now accepting donations again and as you might expect, the cupboards
are bare due to the quarantine. As we head through spring and into summer, we ask that
you please help us replenish our supply of essential items for the children here.
We need shampoo, body wash, deodorant, hand soap and hand sanitizer. All soaps must
be in liquid form. Ivory body wash is needed for the kids with allergies. We could really
use “no show” or crew socks and smaller size jeans. All items are for boys and girls. We
are out of towels and wash cloths. Hair combs and brushes are in short supply as well.
Please have all donations turned into the tubs outside the Narthex or down in the FLC
by July 31st.

St. John is a generous contributor to the CALL Food and Clothing
Pantry. It is often asked “What should I give?” or “What is
needed?” In response, we are doing an “Item of the Month”
donation. Although any item is greatly appreciated, the “Item of the
Month” reflects those items that are not discounted. This is one
great way that St. John is Making the Love of Christ Known.
Donations can be dropped off in the grocery cart in the Narthex or
the Box in the Family Life Center.
