I am going to research the new Dizzee Rascal album release ‘Tongue and check’, the album was the forth studio album from the artist and includes three number one hits since the previous album ‘Maths and English’. The album had a lot of build up and hype leading up to the release on September 23rd.

The main forms of promotion were TV interview on the Jonathan Ross show, performing at summer festivals Glastonbury and t in the park, and an month tour in October.

Dizzee rascal appeared on the BBC chat show ‘Jonathan Ross’ where he talked about the release of his new album and upcoming tours. TV appearances are a very effective way or promoting a new album or single as they are seen by a wide audience and clearly bring the artist into the media spotlight.

October UK tour

This was a tour prior to the release date of the new album on 23rd September, the tour covered most of the UK and was mostly sold out. I think the result from this tour will bring dizzee rascal in to the media spotlight and raise his profile also raising interest in his new material.

Festival appearances

In summer 2009 Dizzee rascal performed at five major UK festivals. He appeared at Glastonbury, V festival, T in the park, Rockness and Wireless, by performing at five major festivals Dizzee rascal becomes increasingly more popular between mainstream ordinance as there is a massive following attending and his music will be herd by thousands this is a massive opportunity to promote the album face to face with his audience.

Dizzee Rascal performance at Radio 1’s big weekend, there were audience of over 15000.
