1 Introduction

Nemo Analyze is a powerful and versatile, cutting-edge analysis tool for performing

benchmarking, troubleshooting and statistical reporting based on drive test data. The

system scales from a standalone tool to an enterprise-level solution and incorporates an

innovative, low-maintenance database engine that has been designed and optimized

specifically for high-performance post-processing of drive test data. Nemo Analyze helps

you to streamline your processes by enabling you to automate the entire data processing

chain from a drive test to an open workbook with analysis results.

Nemo Analyze offers a comprehensive set of technology-specific Key Performance

Indicators for the latest wireless technologies and a wide range of data views that are

known to offer the best visualization of drive test data on the market - and yet it is highly

cost effective, easy to set up and use, and it scales to meet the needs of organizations of

any size.

Nemo Analyze offers support for all major wireless technologies, including TDMA, AMPS,

cdmaOne, GSM, HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA+, HSPA dual carrier,

CDMA2000, TETRA, TETRAPOL, DVB-H, TD-SCDMA, WiMAX, and LTE. Nemo Analyze

supports the following network measurement tools: Nemo Outdoor, Nemo Invex, Nemo

Autonomous, Nemo Compact-i, Nemo Handy, Ascom TEMS™ Investigation, Ascom

TEMS™ Pocket, R&S ROMES™, and EADS REMS TETRAPOL®. Measurement data in

CSV (Character-Separated Value) ASCII format is also supported.

2 What’s New in Nemo Analyze 6.60

This chapter lists new features and problem fixes in Nemo Analyze 6.60. Examples and

instructions for the most important new features are included.

2.1 Support for Nemo File Format 2.17

Nemo Analyze 6.60 is compatible with Nemo File Format 2.17 (Nemo Handy-A v2.10, Nemo Outdoor v7.1) and all older versions. The following metrics have been added:

Added support for content type, audio codec, video codec, and file size parameters for

the streaming protocol. (DSS event)

Added support for dual-radio devices. (SCHI)

Added support for VoLTE calls. (CAA, CAF, CAC, CAD, SIPREGA, SIPREGF, SIPREGC, SIPREGD, RTPJITTER, RTPBUFFER)

Added support for LTE FDD bands 26, 28, and 29.

Added support for LTE C-RNTI. (CHI)

Added support for LTE transmission modes 8 and 9. (CHI)

Added support for LTE sector lock. (LOCK)

2.3 Support for Nokia Maps, WMS, WMTS and ArcGIS Live Maps

Nemo Analyze 6.60 extends live map support. Nokia Maps with Street, Satellite, and

Terrain maps are now supported. Nokia Maps is part of the Nemo Analyze Professional

Package.

In addition, Nemo Analyze 6.60 fully integrates support for WMS (Web Map Service),

WMTS (Web Map Tile Service), and ArcGIS map sources. This makes it possible to utilize

more than 100 high-resolution aerial image and terrain elevation data sources, including

US Geological Service and several other GIS servers worldwide. The new maps are

included in the Nemo Analyze Professional Edition.

New map data sources can be added from View | Options | Map | Live Map. Please refer

to the map service provider for the required settings. Example configurations are included

in the Nemo Analyze 6.60 setup. To open a configuration file, select File | Import |

Settings and select a file from the C:\Nemo Tools\Nemo Analyze\Map Configurations

folder.

2.4 Map Type Swapping

With Nemo Analyze 6.60, map type live map/Mapx map can be changed on the fly for an

existing map window. To do this, right-click on a map in the Map view to open a pop-up

menu, or select Live Map | Maps from the Ribbon bar.

Map type can be also changed for existing Workbook templates. Go to View | Options |

Map and select Default for Open all workbooks and Default map type.

2.5 Ribbon Bar Improvements

The functionality of the ribbon bar tools has been improved in Nemo Analyze 6.60. More

data view specific tools, the same ones that are available in the data view side panel for

maps and charts, have been added to the ribbon bar. Context-sensitive switching of ribbon

tools has also been added. Together, these features simplify the data view configuration.

For example, when opening a map, the ribbon will automatically switch to map tools

displaying all the configuration settings related to the map.

The extension of the toolset available in the ribbon bar enables hiding the side panel most

of the time, thus increasing the screen area available for data viewing.

2.6 File Loading Improvements

Added support for loading base station files with extension CSV. The file is loaded

as .NBF file despite the different extension.

Added support for importing CSV data without full timestamp (date + time). Time is

required but date is no longer mandatory.

Added option to automatically rename measurements that have duplicate names

when loading them to Nemo Analyze under View | Options | Database | Loader.

Added ability to automatically add description to measurements loaded to Nemo

Analyze under View | Options | Database | Loader. The options are “Prompt user”

and “Project name”. The latter takes the active project name as the description.

Description field can be used to filter logfiles or to categorize logfiles in

benchmarking

2.7 Project Manager Improvements

Files loaded by other users or through autoload are no longer added to the current

project.

When adding a file to a drag&drop folder, the folder title is now correctly updated.

When user creates a joined measurement, it is now correctly added to the current

project.

2.8 New LTE KPIs

2.8.1 LTE F-Factor for scanner and mobile

LTE F-Factor parameter is added in the parameter tree for LTE scanner and mobile. F is

available as two variants, an estimate of SNR in dB scale, calculated as serving cell signal

strength divided by sum of non-serving cell signal strengths. F-factor is also available as

an inverse of the SNR estimate as linear (non-dB) value. F-factor makes it possible to

estimate the worst-case performance in fully loaded network with measurements of non-

congested network.

2.8.2 LTE scanner MIMO cross feeder analysis

LTE cross feeder analysis is a new routine available in Nemo Analyze Professional edition,

automatically searching for possible cases where one of the DL MIMO feeder cables is

cross-connected two adjacent sector of the base station. The Analysis is based on

calculating the delta of measured RSRP in the two antenna ports. If the delta is constantly

high, it may indicate a cross feeder problem in the cell.

Results can be displayed on the map or in line graph by default. It is also possible to

further process the output in KPI Workbench to show aggregate RSCP different per each

cell encountered in the drive.

2.8.3 Other Metrics added

Tracking area update time

LTE PUSCH PRBs allocated (mode)

Added support for detecting inter-BTS handover to the "Handover Events"

parameter. The “Handover events” parameter lists all the handovers with status

(success/failure) of the handover included. A new column, “Extended handover

type”, has been added to indicate whether the handover is intra-BTS or inter-BTS.

This addition requires a BTS reference file to work. Source and target cells of the

handover are compared to the BTS file to detect whether they belong to the same

Base station.

2.9 Graph Improvements

Improved secondary Y-axis setting and saving of Y-axis state in the graph view.

Added customizable line width for graph function layers.

Added support for using color sets in line and bar graph. To use the feature, first

enable color sets in graph properties, and then choose a color set for a graph layer

in the layer properties.

2.10 Other Improvements

Added support for AND/OR search logic to measurement search field. For example,

wcdma OR gsm will search for all the log files where the file name includes either

“wcdma” or “gsm”.

Added option to show password in Fleet FTP settings in options window.

Removed the 160 letter limitation from Fleet Script Editor SMS sending.

Added ability to edit Fleet script commands with two parts (start/end) as pairs.

Added ability to update subfolders automatically with the root folder.

Added ability to select output preferences for CSV parameters.

Added support for playbacking audio files from TETRAPOL MOS measurements.

This can be done by clicking an audio sample row in grid view and choosing the

option from the context menu.

Improved distance measurement tool in map view so it uses units chosen at the

presentation format page in the Options window.

Added option to Event Scheduler that skips running of a report if the folder is

empty.

Spreadsheet reports can now be also executed with standard Nemo Analyze

license.

2.11 Fixed Problems

Fixed a case where loading of a measurement could fail when measurements were

being deleted simultaneously.

Fixed map color legend problems when using distance based weighting.

Fixed exporting of data from map to MapInfo TAB file when "hide default color

route" is used.

Fixed a problem that prevented using a constant value in KPI workbench filter

node.

Fixed a problem that prevented creating multiple folders with the same name in

different subfolders.

Fixed a problem that prevented cell ID format (16/28-bit) not applied to color

legend.

Fixed scale bar in MapX maps so it functions properly with other units than meters.

Fixed a problem that could cause an error message when opening *.gst maps in

MapX.

Fixed a problem that would allow closing a polygon area window without saving the

polygon area first.

Fixed problems with surface graph scaling.

Fixed a problem that caused a scheduled spreadsheet report to not be correctly

attached to an email sent by Event Scheduler.

Fixed a problem that could cause workbooks exported to PowerPoint to appear

stretched.

Fixed a problem with application throughput missing for certain TEMS

measurement files.

Fixed a problem that caused BTS ref queries to run very slow when using a project

that contains no BTS files.

Fixed device extension filter in search folders so it does not accept partial match.

E.g., filter "2" no longer matches extension "12".

Fixed a problem that prevented some parameter filters from appearing in the

Spreadsheet Report Designer.

Fixed a problem that prevented using workbooks with multipage Live Maps in Event

Scheduler.

Call attempted system parameter now has correct value when system has changed

between CAA and CAC events.

3 Installation

3.1 First-time Installation

Installation must be run under Administrator account or other user account with

administrative privileges.

1. Install Nemo Analyze 6.60 by running the setup. Follow the instructions of the setup

wizard. Restart the computer after installation if required by the setup wizard.

3.2 Upgrade from Version 6.50



1. Uninstall previous version of Nemo Analyze from Control Panel Add or Remove

programs, NOT by running the Nemo Analyze 6.60 setup. Restart computer if required

by the setup wizard



3.3 Update/Upgrade from Versions 6.10 or Older



Version 6.60 update can be performed on top of any older version, but the

existing database may have to be removed if updated from older than version

6.20.

1. Uninstall previous version of Nemo Analyze from Control Panel Add or Remove

programs, NOT by running the Nemo Analyze 6.60 setup. Restart computer if required

by the setup wizard

3. “Failed to connect to database” error may appear when starting Nemo Analyze for the

first time after the installation. In this case, close Analyze.exe, and

AnalyzeSocketServer.exe processes from the Windows Task Manager, and run

C:\Nemo Tools\Nemo Analyze Datastore\remove database.bat.

4 Compatibility

Nemo Analyze 6.60 is compatible with Nemo log files up to file format v. 2.17 (Nemo

Handy-A v2.10, Nemo Outdoor v7.1), and all older file format versions.

Nemo Analyze 6.60 supports files from the following Ascom TEMS tools:
